@dannumbertwo7 ай бұрын
My first bike was a late model Suzuki Katana 750, the bike shown in the thumbnail and briefly at 3:40. I'd say it's a decent beginner bike if you have to commute on the highway. The only real drawback for a beginner is it's a bit heavy and has fairings, so when you drop it you'll have to deal with the plastic damage somehow. I recommend mixing acetone and ABS plastic to patch and reinforce any cracks. It's comfy and simple. Removing the panels to do service isn't too bad because it doesn't need much service! The parts come off quick and easy from there if you have to get deeper into the bike. The first time I had to do it was a bit intimidating but after working on other bikes, this one stands out as a nice simple machine. For all it's great traits, I don't think the GSXF would have made the guy any less of a psycho than the GSXR. This model was nicknamed the Kan o Tuna and people have made fun of it and it's riders since this model came out. It's not as quick as the GSXR, lower performance suspension, and it's curvy bodywork is 'ugly'. The original Katana it descended from was a groundbreaking machine and more powerful than the later ones, which made people look at the late variant as kind of a dumb bike, evolving in reverse. Compared to the guys at the shop poking fun at him for not handling the GSXR, he would have caught a lot more shit for riding the Kan o Tuna. I love mine, still have it, still run it, and I'll never sell it. It's great around town, nimble at speed, and stable on the highway. And while it won't pull your arms out of their sockets it is quicker than 95% of the cars out there so it's plenty fun and easy to put yourself where you want to be in the traffic stream. I don't mind when other riders poke fun, it's just banter. The derision does help keep the price down lol.

Somethinh similar happened at the bike shop i worked at in high school. Dude came in all cocky and wanted a GSXR or a Ninja i cant remember which. But he had never ridden a bike before! We all tried to tell him how bad of an idea that was. To start out with something smaller, lighter, with less power to learn on. We would take it back in trade at the highest value we could give him AFTER he learned to ride and got confortable. HELL NO! he was a "MAN" and wanted a fast bike. So......we sold him one. I tried to teach him how to ride it in the parking lot. Wouldnt listen to me. I was a punk kid. His girlfriend trying to talk sense into him the whole time. So, he dropped it 3 times trying to learn in the lot. Finally took off uo the road girlfriend following in her car. 15 minutes later... Girlfriend conrs flying back, crying saying he crashed. I jumped in with her and she took me to where he was. He had gone thru an intersection with some loose sand and gravel. It slid out from under him and laid down. He was sitting there looking like a kid whos ice cream cone fell on the ground LOL. He said "TAKE THIS PIECE OF $#!@ BACK TO YOUR SHOP GUY". He had thrown the helmet out into the woods like a toddler. I rode it back and put it in the shop. Lol. Some people's egos are just out of control

I worked at a bike dealer/shop...definitely saw folks wreck or at least drop bikes in the lot. The best was when they'd buy an expensive Arai helmet, walk out with it in hand, drop it on asphalt, then get mad we wouldn't accept the return. That was far more common than dropping bikes but some wild egos in there...

Ok I bought a 2018 gsxr750, first Nike, 49, woman, California, I has only been on a motorcycle with my brother, he taught me when I was 19, so I went to the Harley dealership to buy a cruiser, well…. I liked the red wheels 😳, it was used, I really didn’t know what I was buying, the guy selling me the bike told me, not a beginner bike, I called my brother, he told me, you’re going to die, so I slept on it, looked at other bikes, I went back, and bought it, dropped it a couple times, braking too fast, I had two cars, it was in the garage, then I forced myself to learn, through the hills in Carlsbad at four in the morning, less traffic, drove to work, now I drive and love it, I’m 51, still a woman i think, I have no ego, it is the best middle age buy, oh, I worked and survived covid in the iCU as an RN, it is a reminder that I am alive, I’m more careful lane splitting,

The 750 or even the 600 sport bike is a good “first” sport bike. But damn that is after a bit of …what do they call it? O ya TRAINING! Not a good dealership if a customer comes to you because that are having troubles handling a bike, and they don’t try to get you into a training course or some sort of help. Not saying they didn’t and we are going off the word of a psycho. So they might have well done just that. As for them being “rude” I bet you $100 they were just good ol’ boys giving him a hard time. Joking around, but he is a psycho and took it personal. If his reputation is anything close to what was said about him true, then I would bet he was willing to help the guy.

2:15 "Because this is America and you're guilty until proven innocent" That was an obscenely dumb comment. The police's job is to investigate. If they assume everyone is innocent, who are they going to investigate..? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Literally no crime would ever be investigated or solved. No one would ever be arrested, and no criminals would ever go to jail, because everyone is innocent unless the police see you do it. And even then, you're innocent until they can prove they saw you do it. You're innocent until proven guilty *in a court of law* not during the investigation.
@Ehal2566 ай бұрын
I would argue that gathering evidence and investigating doesn't require them to presume guilt. Police still (ostensibly) have to presume innocence. It's why you can generally bail yourself out if jailed before trial. If you are presumed guilty, they can just throw you in prison to start.

Well, you could simply learn how to ride that bike, and just like any other machine, be responsible and do not simply add as much power as the machine will allow. You don't get into a car for the first time, be it a Corolla or a Corvette, and instantly slam the gas pedal down to the floor and run around at WOT, so what is the difference in a mid powered motorcycle? You can get hurt on a 250cc scooter just as easy as you can on a 1000cc or a large 1200cc bike. The saying to get a small bike an "learn" how to ride it is one of the most ignorant things to say. What you should say is to get a bike that is comfortable for your body size, your wallet and of course, off of the used lot or from an individual. Just act right when riding it.
