I should say *potential* asterisk. Alexander Bromley brought up some points surrounding that lift that put a little doubt in my mind at least. Clearly Benny's posterior chain was good for it, but im not 100% convinced his grip was. Even 970 to 1015 is a massive jump in terms of grip. So call me 95% convinced haha

Hafthor has always been trying to chase Eddie. Eddie did the impossible under different circumstances has always been dominant. Though Benedict raw grip was insane so if anyone could have pushed and been offered a opportunity to passed Eddie and Hafthor it be Benny. Maybe even Brian and Z if offered an opportunity. 💰

Sumo vs conventional would be an interesting topic. They are two different lifts period. Maybe don’t make them illegal but separating them into two different categories would help. Conventional to sumo is almost how flat bench is to incline or decline. Same class of movement but a different variation.

Small correction: In strongman you can use any suit you want not, not just singlyply. Hafthor used a single ply deadlift suit, and I believe Eddie used a multi ply squat suit (it was definitely multi ply, not sure if it was a squat suit or deadlift suit but there are strongmen who use squat suits as deadlift suits and vice versa) Also some fun facts: Big Z pulled 440kg on a stiff bar with globes instead of weights but adjusted so he’d still be pulling from standard height (or even a half inch deficit) the people with the highest sumo + conventional total are rauno heinla with a 475kg sumo in the gym and 476kg (masters record) conventional in competition for a 951kg total and Jamal browner in second with a 500kg sumo in the gym and 430kg conventional in competition for a 930kg total

Dan Grigsby deadlifted on calibrated plates. However the Kubaki bar made it easier. Plus sumo. Benedict Magnusson strongest conventional raw even today. Only problem not calibrated. However he was rumored to do 450kg on Cali plates. Jesus Olivares did 904lbs on the stiff bar and calibrated plates. As for me I'm a decent deadlifter. Except they are official lifts therefore they count much more then your opinion. @@vitaliyvorobets2738 nice series of lies lil bro. Kryztoffs lift wasn't sanctioned and isn't an official lift. Jamal never pulled a mere 380 and went to 430 in a few months.
