I love Elizabeth Olsen, I love her work as Scarlet Witch in the MCU. She's probably my favorite character in the MCU, but I can completely understand her not wanting "The Scarlet Witch" to define her career. Having said that, it's my opinion that she should have a break from the character for the immediate future, and then maybe with a break she'll be ready to go when they need her for X-men. As a major fan of this universe, I think it would be devastating to not see her history with the X-men not play out on the big screen!!!!

to give an impression from Germany: in Mannheim (about 400k inhabitants) the movie theater is sold out when they are doing a nice price event or movie day. The tickets for these are about 6-10€. Standard price is about double that amount + premium screen/ special chair 2-6 € on top. Lowest price for a snack combo 5€ (beer and pringles), easily double or triple that price for bigger combos. They also sell a lot of merge. In Frankfurt (about 1 million people) where I work they have kind of an event cinema called a "film lounge" in the city centre. The experience is more like visiting a good restaurant, as far as I know the concept is a success. Me and my collegues love to go there. Age bracket 30-60 years😅

So with the popcorn buckets/movie theater marketing thing - I feel like it’s less of a new thing and more of a return. I remember that our local AMC back in the day (I believe it was general cinemas then?) used to have a gift shop back in the day that as a kid I was obsessed with. I remember them being stocked with all sorts of movie merch back in the day, mid 90s, of things like Space Jam, Batman Forever, Men in Black, Disney movies etc

Antony Starr is also really good in the show Banshee (which aired in Cinemax, but is streaming on Max). I watched it as it was coming out and didn't recognize him when I first saw The Boys, but when I later went back for a rewatch, I picked up a lot of Homelander facial expressions and mannerisms. Also, that article is going to stir up some shit, because it looks like he's Kiwi and they called him Aussie.

If a movie doesn't perform well in theatres it comes to streaming sooner. Many people now rather pay $20 and be at home, no need for babysitter if you have kids, work alot etc. If a movies big like Oppenheimer, Godzilla Minus One and Dune 2 then they are worth going out for so they stay around in theatres longer but for the most part consumers know just to wait and it'll be at home sooner.

A Scarlett witch movie could be cool, I’ll tentatively be excited for that. I’m personally not excited for a Hawkeye season 2 because season 1 was one of my least favorite marvel shows. Hopefully they can step it up in the story department for season 2. I am a big Taron Egerton fan so I’m all in for him being the MCU’s Wolverine. Maybe he will make a cameo in Deadpool.

I find the doom talk about the Summer box office odd. I get that it's been low, but May didn't have anything that huge in it. Furiosa (last Mad Max did well critically, but wasn't a B.O. smash), Apes (only Dawn did huge, Kingdom is in line with Rise/War), IF and Fall Guy (new/basically new, and we know movie stars aren't the draw these days like IP is). My question would be why anybody expected May to do gangbusters without any Marvel, DC, Star Wars, or the like? Now if we get to the end of the Summer and DP&W, Despicable Me 4, Bad Boys, Inside Out, Quiet Place all underperform, then I get it. To use a sports analogy like you guys like to do: This is like wondering why the team didn't score in an inning where the 7-8-9 hitters were up.

Uh oh, did you accidently delete the Thursday show with Roxy and Brett again? lol. Not that I'm not happy to see Winston and Coy, but I thought Roxy and Brett were back this week. Oh well. I'm not worried about the success of Deadpool & Wolverine, but I'm very nervous about the state of theaters lately. I hope what's happening right now is just a temporary setback. If we lose movie theaters, I don't know what I'll do. It's an experience that can't be replicated by any big TV or home theater system. I wish a lot more people appreciated the theater experience like we do. As for that Scarlet Witch movie, I don't see that happening. We'll probably see her again, but it'll likely be as a supporting character in other MCU projects like she usually is. I'm very much looking forward to a 2nd season of Hawkeye, though. That's in my top 3 best Disney+ MCU shows. It was a fun Christmas watch. Give me that Die Hard/Lethal Weapon/Shane Black feel again and I'm in. And I don't think any trailer lawsuits make a difference. They still show things that aren't in the movie. As much as I love Fall Guy, to name one example, the trailers showed a lot of stuff that wasn't in it. That was very aggravating.

11:16 coy you had me go in a flashback my parents could never afford a lot for us due to reasons we lived in my grandparents basement apartment I always wanted to go on dates or out with friends since I was like 8-9 years old not to be cool but to ask people what movie would they like to see you saying the board kills me I had to always ask my grandpa for money to go to a movie we had an agreement I order him take out (he didn’t speak English) and I’d get the food and am able to leave going to a theater at like 5pm and the movie doesn’t start till 530 because we didn’t call moviephone or read the papers for the showtimes and I had to choose use the money to get popcorn for the movie or pay for the arcade while we wait I always chose to ask my dates (not friends) if it’s ok that I pay for the popcorn keep the receipt to get it fresh and play the games or try to win at the claw machine with the extra money I saved from allowance by helping my parents I don’t think any kid will have that same experience ever especially having to mow the lawn or shovel in the winter just for the random joy of walking up to the board and seeing what was there

The only thing I don't want in regard to merch for movies is them all doing the same thing. The lewd popcorn bucket for Deadpool works cause Deadpool is lewd and meta and it's a meme of the Dune bucket memes.
