I miss the days when stars like Dean had class and talent , that’s something that’s sadly lacking in most of today’s shows. I even miss the corny jokes like he told. They weren’t that funny but the way he delivers them that makes them good. Imagine that ! A hour long tv shows with zero obscenity’s and still funny.

Oh my God, I would LOVE a pair of those red, white, and blue argyle socks that Liberace had on! He was an icon of the American dream - despite prejudice & hatred/ignorance, he made it. And as never to be forgotten. Liberace had more courage in his little finger, than the entirety of those who hated, simply for him being himself.

Im not taking a single thing away from Dino....& Frank adored Dino BUT You guys do know that Sammy idolized Frank & Dino looked up to him as well. I have a HUGE soft spot for Dean & Sammy & while Sammy may technically be the better all around performer, Dean may sing more to my personal tastes, Frank is, in my humble opinion just simply the best....he was the chairman of the board for a reason....he had that "snaps his fingers" special something you cant put your finger on...all you need to say "he's Sinatra" & people know what you mean.

Dean and Gene my absolute faves from old Hollywood. Would you know what year the Gene episode was?
@toniwilson15792 жыл бұрын
He was on his show a lot, they loved each other so much. They had a friendship since the 1950 . Frank Sinatra introduce them when he was making anchor way with Gene Kelly. Sadly Gene die just a month and 9days after Dean. Gen die February 2,1996 and of Course Dean die Christmas Morning 1995. So Frank Sinatra lost 2 close friends within a very short time.

I would love to know what was happening at the first song. The bass player struggled through the whole thing, and the ending was rough 04:50 . And Dean knew it. I wonder who he was looking at? It looked like he was tired of the repetition, and he finally called it - - THIS is the end!

Was an act , great showman , go to biography of dean Martin , even Frank knew he was acting , he had his problem but he was a professional , saying he was drunk ? I nor u can never say that , like I said he had a drinking problem but it was not on the network , one is , they would not have anyone drunk on national tv , especially during 60s 70s .. no network would tolerate this behavior, look at most of these actors in this generation , losing there careers for drugs !!!
@CR-ty5eg Жыл бұрын
Although these shows would never be acceptable now (overt sexualisation of women not good but as a woman at the time it wasn't an issue) it's still a shame. When you compare the 'entertainment' of today - Strictly, Big Brother, Naked Attraction and the puerile humour of HIGNFY, is it really that bad? My answer no. At least there was unbelievable talent that didn't offend.
@saxefoner6 жыл бұрын
That first song was terrible: unbearably corny, slow, and the bass was way too loud. Dino should have fired the musical director and refused to sing the damn thing. But maybe that would have been too much trouble. Hee Haw!
@keef715 жыл бұрын
Don't take it too seriously, Dean certainly didn't! Love it at around 3:35, where he very obviously counts the bars until he comes back in - brilliant. And of course, Dean himself is often the fall guy or the butt of the joke.
