The FNT crowd premiered Eric's attack on crowdfunding when his books were launching. Most Manga is actually based on a story that was written before hand as a standalone novel series (web novels) that didn't rely on fancy pictures to draw people in but the story itself. What that gives you is a Manga that has a GOOD STORY first and foremost, if you want you can think of it that Manga is just an easy to digest novel with pictures to guide the reader along the authors vision.

I agree with you Ethan: love the 2005 Fantastic Four movie. I think it is criminally underrated, maybe the most underrated comic movie. The biggest problem was Jessica Alba and their unwillingness to just make her a traditional Woman, she had to be some kind of scientist who rivals Reed at some points. I actually think the guy they got to be Richards was probably perfect, he was just either a little bit too young for the role at the time, or they did not write him well enough. He was in a show a few years later where he played an immortal called Forever. In that show he was Richards: he was just very smart and knew so much because of his age and he was very convincing. I think that's actually a common failing of Writers: trying to write someone who's a Super Genius, when they themselves are probably not. It is hard for them to depict a convincing Super Genius because they aren't smart enough themselves to pull that off convincingly. But I love Chris Evans as the Torch and the Commish was good as Ben Grimm. Their interplay was perfect and just the fun family aspect of the Fantastic Four was captured very well. It was the sequel where they messed up trying to make Galactus, and that one was just not as good in general. Johnny as the Super Skrull with all their powers was cool though, and the Surfer was okay.

Pros are: The words are simpler and easier to read, The art does most of the story telling, the art is complex and simple at the same time, price, and lastly the pro is more pro consumer. Now pro consumer I mean it's hard for your average person nowadays to go to a Comic shop for only 20 or 25 pages. You get more with a manga. Reason why I feel bigger comics nowadays would help the market. But it would defeat the Collectibility of it.

You also generally don't have to worry about where to start in a series and buy a bunch of crossover material just to finish one story. I've really been enjoying Hellboy recently, but to understand a lot of what was going on I had to read several different comic series in a strange order that didn't match the issue numbers.

Superman means infinitely more to me than Fantastic Four. With that being said, I've watched (and enjoyed watching) the FF trailer three times in two days, while only seeing the Superman trailer twice in a month, and hating it both times. In a physical book format, I'm a DC guy. EVS helped cement that for me with GL Rebirth and, yes, even Flash Rebirth (I like Flash Rebirth a lot). But in terms of motion picture, even though I have fallen out of the loop since Infinity War and Endgame, it is Marvel that has my respect and my interest. I won't see the new Cap movie, just like I didn't see Wakanda Forever, or The Eternals, or Captain Marvel, or yadda yadda yadda. But FF? Marvel is getting my money in the form of at least one Fantastic Four theatre admission ticket.

GW is litigious toward any "infringements" against it's IP. Reference "Spots the Space Marine" novel and Chapterhouse Studios. The rumor with Astartes creator Syama Pederson was "you work with us now or else" Again. just a rumor.

@@MegaMacnut I have heard that the only reason StarCraft got away with using Space Marines was that it was supposed to be a 40K licensed game but GW yanked the license at the last second so Blizzard had to repurpose the game, so it was GW either let them release the game as their own IP or face a breach of contract law suit. like you said, rumor control. I have also heard they are now coming down on fan made stuff now they have their streaming service, dunno where they think they will get more content when they stomp out the very thing that gave them the content to create that service to begin with... But Eric July has proven that being successful doesn't make you immune to chain swording your own legs off due to short sightedness

@@pcfree4994 Chain swording, LOL, exactly. If the Starcraft thing is true, ouch for GW. Astartes was so positive in signifigance for GW in that it introduced 40k to a wider audience and contributed to GW's bottom line. Pedersen is credited in the Netflix Secret Level and prolly working on Astartes 2 so that worked out good. EJ incinerated so much good will when he turned on CG. Early contributions from CG to Rippaverse can not be understated. I enjoy EVS monetizing hibbity jibbity b\c it is justice.

@@MegaMacnut I agree Astartes was great for GW, I have just heard that they are trying to put more control on the fan creators so they can monetize them better, while I think officially publishing fan creators and giving them a cut is great, but I have heard some stories of them trying to strike down the ones that don't make the grade which will just stop people trying. Hopefully I'm misinformed or that was reverted. As for Eric... I was heavily in his corner... I was even simpping for him in chat on Nick's stream... In my defense I had an attempted home invasion that week so I was a bit bias... but by the end of that, I felt like a wrung out whore, and it just got worse from there!

The trailer looks good I don’t like Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards though he doesn’t look the part to me. Maybe if he cleaned shaved he would look a lot less like Gomez Adams and more like Mr. Fantastic, other than that they nailed it with the Thing and Johnny Storm.
