I felt really bad for those actors in the inhumans show. They thought getting in on a marvel property would open a lot of doors for them, but they were just part of the cynical attempt to replace the mutants. That being said, War of Kings is a really great event.

As an Inhumans fan (don't ask me why, I actually don't know. It's mostly that I'm a fan of Medusa, Ms. Marvel, Quake and Moon Girl, and they're like the faces of the Inhumans right now), I actually found this book really mean-spirited and also not very coherent. There were tons of plotholes and loose ends that weren't actually resolved, the stakes were never high enough (how can you have an event where Inhumans are targeted and NOT have Kamala Khan viciously fighting for her life?), the pacing was extremely fast and instead of having all of New Arctilan's lunar colony involved and giving everyone glorious battle deaths... They gave them whimpering deaths with most deaths not even being on screen. I actually do like more individual mutants than I do Inhumans, but I consider myself more of an Inhumans fan than an X-Fan. And while I'm happy for them that they got the X-Men back and the MCU's getting them back, too, the Inhumans have fans now, despite Marvel's horrible attempts to market them and later bury them. We could've had both, we just never had writers who cared enough to try.

Big part of the problem is this: All Mutants: Race Issues or Homosexuality Issues metaphor, depending on THE STORY. Willing Inhumans: Transgender Issues metaphor. Unwilling Inhumans: Asexuality Issues metaphor. Not only are those latter two more niche, it means a story has two choices if they've jammed Willing and Unwilling Inhumans together: 1. Engage with the social issues metaphors and struggle to balance two different metaphors that they might not even have any idea HOW TO engage with. 2. Reject the social issues metaphors entirely. Most current Inhumans writers, as far as I'm aware, took the latter option.

You know I rewatched this in an Autoplay recently and it hit about the same as always, death of stories just don't interest me much but sal mentioned Inhuman by Charles Soule being the opposite so I tried it. I am like 14 issues deep and I love it, the panel work is amazing, I am starting to love the characters, especially Medusa, and the whole experience feels freash. I thought Lineage had potential as a neat take on the "evil vizier" since he's literally a New York mobster. Plus he has tons of knowledge since his power gave him access to all the genetic memories of his ancestors which included some big time Inhuman scientists, politicians, and generals. But then Charles Soule had him stage a revolt not 10 issues after his appearance so he got booted out of the city where he died in IvX. What a waste.
