Beverly Johnson was the first black model on Vogue. I am old enough to remember that they preferred the light skinned models. It was only until Iman and Grace Jones who were able to create their own path in addition to modeling that we started seeing dark skinned black models. Beverly Johnson became popular in the 70s. Know how to make a concrete point or argument. Pls make it make sense Lisaraye. You are showing yourself and it’s not a good look. I wish you so much better. Ps. Lisa is being defensive because she’s embarrassed. Sis can’t say she was wrong and it is what it is. She’s a product of her environment and she absolutely gives me the vibe of a light skinned woman who wouldn’t date another light skinned person and makes it a point to date people darker than her so that she doesn’t want light kids. Not going to cancel her, she just needs to be educated and probably get some counseling. Syleena, keep being a good friend and trying to educate your girl. Keep making Lisa question her thoughts so she can not come off ignorant.

IT IS NOT THE SAME....even the AA community treats darkskinned women like dirt with no value... this hurts us economically in job searches and business opportunities which is the MOST IMPORTANT issue we face.... also, start with a line up of spouses of pro athletes, next move on to those making statement that darkskinned women are ugly and their mixed babies are beautiful... all babies are beautiful, but why the attack on dsw?... that's just a start.... you're not ready... too disingenuous...
