Snape ALWAYS (How much important this word is to him) wanted to teach the same subject but interestingly the headmaster kept rejecting him the post and reserved him till the 6th book. He very well knew that Snape would no longer be in the school after that. In the 7th book, Snape returned school as a headmaster but he didn't teach the subject but someone else was appointed for that subject. So, it only solidifies the theory that the job was cursed by the dark lord.

I watched another ranking video a few days ago and they are pretty much the same. Except they didn't include Carrow because he taught Dark Arts instead of Defense Against the Dark Arts.

Don’t forget Dumbledore. Before he became headmaster, he also taught Defense Against the Dark Arts

Carrow should be in the top 4. Yes, what he taught is horrible, but at least he taught something. To defend yourself against the Dark Arts, it's very useful to know them. In fact, Harry himself uses Crucio, Imperio and Sectumsempra.
