The Definition of "Drop Shut Action" - Monterey Bay Knives Mini Rosalinda

That blade shape is very similar to the Hinderer “Swedged Spearpoint” blade. I just ordered one! I particularly like the smaller MBK knives. The bigger ones, somehow, manage to feel too big to me (most 3.5” blade knives DON’T). When I first saw a Rosalinda, I thought “oh, boy, a curvilinear alternative to the squared-off (Mini-) Old Guards and EZCs! I expected that the original, full-size knife might be too big, so I held off. When I saw the Mini-Rosalinda, at well below book, I bought it, within a minute! They were already sold out at MBK, and here I had a new example for $50 under list! I know these are good, because I own several smaller MBKs (cited), and I know THEY are terrific little knives! Can’t wait for mine to be delivered!

They make great stuff, I'm just mad at them for not making more Sea Otters! The EZC (Maker's Choice) is very similar, just a different handle and blade shape though you can get single side fat carbon as an option which is nice. I agree though, the single side thumb studs are super annoying, I should be able to open a knife with either hand.

@sloanNYC I just ended up modding my rosalinda. Dremeled out the lockbar/scale and installed dual studs. Turned it from good, into one of my top 3 knives.

Get an EZC “Maker’s Choice,” in titanium with thumb studs, in ZDP-189. It is exactly the same size and shape as a Sea Otter, with an excellent action that must be about as good as a that knife, for 1/2 or less of the cost of one! Yes, being American-made is a big plus, but only if you can afford to pay hundreds of dollars more than you’d pay for a similar, imported knife.

@@yankee2yankee I have an EZC with the Arctic Storm Fat Carbon inlay. I like it a lot but the single sided thumb stud drives me nuts. I didn't realize it was like that until I got it. I prefer the look of the Sea Otter/Lion and Magnacut over ZDP as well. They are just always out of stock!

The pronunciation may just be like row-saw leen-da. Maybe cause I live next to the border down here. Never mispronounce a Mexican woman's name, just no, don't do that. Both the name and that knife are pretty as hell though.
