I don't ask girls out, i just wait for them to linger and pick me, lately I was dating a 23 year old, while I am 36, and it was exactly as you describe, the dates are pretty much showing her spots in the area that no one knows about, like beaches or parks, bringing high quality food, and then taking her to high quality places where people know who I am. Once I ran out of spots or it became repetitive, it was over. At 23, she pretty much needed hyper attention all the time, otherwise she felt "lonely" even though she was constantly surrounded by people and getting backstage access everywhere she went. There is no way I can compete, and the moment a guy realizes I am there and she is with me, there is a level of vibe cut off from the situation. Dating is dead, the only way to "date" is to essentially go to parties, bang a girl, get all of the other girls jealous, and then move onto the next girl once the one you're with gets bored, because they are never interested in long term, and the relationship is a fading interest from the start.

Went down the rabbit hole to find out the reasons for behaviour. I used to do ballroom lessons in high school and when I got to college I took some ballroom dance classes. 20 girls and 8 guys in the class. My experience: pray that you meet a girl that is tired of dating apps and hasn't been run through by the town. 1. If she's not tired of dating and dating apps, she'll keep you on the back burner. For you, it's frustrating and a waste of your time. Value yourself better than that. 2. If she's been run through, she'll be too tired to have fun with you. You're just a friend and she'll go elsewhere to have fun. You just end up with all her problems and holding her luggage. Again, value yourself better than that. Now that's all assuming you're trying to find a girl that's more than a fun time. If you're just looking for a quickie, by all means, chat to as many girls as you can. Two strategies there: 1. Linger long enough and she'll eventually add you to her rotation. 2. Find the easy ones, identify them quickly, lay down pipe and evac as quickly as possible before crazy kicks in. If she's not crazy, now you play the game of how often can you hit it before you get caught. If that's the game you enjoy, good luck. That's some risky business.

I'm a 54 year old female and I agree with Aaron's assessment. Dating has changed radically. I agree that dinner and a movie seem antiquated to me given the environment we're in. I see nothing wrong with grabbing a coffee or drinks and appetizers during a happy hour to get to know a person, especially if you are meeting them for the first time off the internet. I also agree that this whole electronic dating without meeting in person is growing and I'm a bit alarmed at that. I don't think it's good because it decreases human interaction. However, if two people are on the same page, then that's fine. Although that's frequently not the case. I don't agree with women who say the man should always pay for the dates, especially if you don't know each other at all. That doesn't make sense to me. I think trust should work both ways and it should be more egalitarian given the environment we're in. There are good men and women out there but you do need to be on the lookout and make the effort.

I'm starting a consulting business so I'm focused on that, not a relationship. I'm also bisexual, mostly attracted to women, occasionally men. But right now, I'm focused on getting my business up and running. I worked in U.S. healthcare for 20 years and had a lot of offers from men but what they were looking for was a caregiver so I turned them down. Overall, I like being on my own, but if I meet someone I'm in synch with, that's cool too.
