Then you need to set your expectations much lower. The trailer actually had some heartbeat to it. The movie itself was vacuous and trite. No one from the stars to the person at the craft table knew anything about the destructive passion that should have captivated an audience. They were tepidly luke warm when Jim came to her door. Seriously the director couldn't find one person who has had a passionate affair where ones very being is being pulled apart. Where one puff of his breath on the back of your neck while your husband opens another bottle of wine in the kitchen makes you loose all sense of reality, nothing else matters. I want to say they tried, but they didn't. Thanks for letting me vent. You're wrong about the song though, it really was the best part of the movie.

I’m not particularly into romantic dramas but Delinquent Season provided me with a new twist to the genre. Director Mark O’Rowe gives a story about two Irish couples who are close friends, having dinners with each other and coordinating playdates between their children. The movie escalates when the two couples begin to get involved in a situation of adultery, testing the strength of marriage and unraveling surprising circumstances. I thought the movie itself was very entertaining, being filmed in a grim and serious way that had me attentive throughout. The acting was impressive as well, I specifically enjoyed the performance by Cillian Murphy.

This movie is great but the trailer does not do it any justice whatsoever. I personally found this movie dark and thought-provoking in a good way. In no way does it “glamourise” adultery like people assume it will, if anything it reminds us all that affairs always bring consequences with them and usually ruins one or more people’s lives... There are no happy endings here and I think that’s maybe the point of the story. Affairs happen, people cheat - doesn’t mean it’s right but I’d say this movie is an honest and very real portrayal of how these things escalate. Well done to the fantastic cast, writers and directors 👏

I had already been a fan of Cillian Murphy, but I thought he really performed phenomenally in the new romance drama The Delinquent Season. The acting throughout was so strong that I couldn’t help but become wholly invested in the characters’ situations. Along with realistic and captivating writing thanks to Mark O’Rowe, this movie would be perfect for anyone who enjoys a dramatic love movie.

The Delinquent Season is intense and earthy. I recently stumbled upon this movie, directed by Mark O’Rowe, and found it very entertaining with every dark turn and twist there was. I found it theatric and realistic at the same time. I liked that it didn’t overdramatize what it was like to have an affair. It felt very fitting the way the director made it. After watching this movie, I’ve thought back to it a few times and decided I’d definitely watch it again.

I do not think it is a lack of knowledge, I rather think it is meant to be that kinda weird way. Do you know the series "Mr. Robot"? I have only seen a few scenes but the camera angles are sooo weird with very odd proportions. I couldn't help but think of Mr.Robot when seeing this trailer, so maybe it is the new shit?

Mr Robot does not have the same, I understand that it might look the same but Mr Robot actually follows conventional grid based composition and reverses it. Stanley Kubrick did that quite often in his films to create a sense of awkwardness especially in the shining and odyssey 2001. This here is not the same, as the eyes and head is either positions almost in the middle or too high up or too low, and also they continually keep doing that. I think the cinematographer or director decided to try to go for what they perceive looks nice, with out actually thinking why it should be shot the way it was shot. That is bad cinematography when you have no logic to your composition. The only shot I liked was the final one when the two of them are in bed with them almost outside of frame and the phone on the other side. Otherwise the rest was jaring and bad.

Oh and the geography get messed up when the composition is that wrong. Here is a question, who is sitting beside who in the beginning shot? The composition makes it that the geography of the room is messed up.

i’m gonna comment here to further explain my disappointment: cillian is doing movies with christopher! nolan! and he’s incredible in peaky blinders and has had another few great roles, andrew hasn’t been in anything really big lately but he’s a fantastic actor (season two of fleabag, he’s amazing!) so i really don’t get how did they not realise the script was awful....... maybe it’s a combination of a bad script and even worse editing? is that it? no the script is just awful by itself

cause the writer is super well known in Ireland and Mark O Rowe but mainly he does really successful PLAYS. They're both theater babies so they thought he could do a film but they were so wrong...I was watching it n realized that it was mostly directed poorly and the woman was cast all wrong. So yeah I'm sure it's good as a play but a play is diff from a movie and not everyone can direct. A bad director ruins a play. Just to show

Came to this movie for Catherine cos I loved Leap Year and thought it was criminal she was only in it for about ten seconds. But I was struck by Andrew’s performance as a standout detail so I went and watched everything else he’s done and now I’m completely in love 😍
