Hey!!! Got to say I LOVE Uncle Ted & You!!! Still listening in June, of 2023!!! That Marvin Junior’s voice. Uncle Ted know!!! & yes they were from Harvey, Illinois. I’ve also got to say I seen them twice, before the voices left us. In Berkeley, & Oakland, California, where I’m from. Got to say some of the BEST Concerts I’ve attended!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE You Guys, Both!!!

Growing up in the suburbs of DC I was introduced to the great music of Motown. This song still brings a tear of joy to my eyes. Thanks gentlemen.

The Mighty Mighty Dells. One of the greatest group, performers ever lived and the nicest. MUSIC ROYALTY/ ICONS. The late great David Ruffin called Marvin the man with the IRON THROAT. RIH Marvin, Johnny and Chuck. Michael McGill and Verne Allison are retired and still living in Chicago.

By the way, they were all the same members always!!! Johnny Funches left the group left the group to be with his family (wife & kids). Although Mickey McGill, lost his brother, after a near fatal accident, & he adventually left to go in the military, he eventually returned & they recruited new member, Johnny Carter, they would remain together 50+ years!!!

Sounds like Uncle Ted knows his stuff. Ted that voice that started out, the high one, “Please! Please! Please!” That was Johnny Carter. Magnificent!!! Now, the other voice, Mr. Marvin Junior. I know you’d have to agree!!! And to think, that man, Chess, from Chess Records said Mr. Marvin couldn’t sing?!!! Well youngster, what do you think of Marvin’s voice? The one, Johnny Carter joined in about 1963. After, coming home from the military, I think, the Army. Then, the Vietnam War! You’ve truly been schooled, Youngster!!! Love y’all’s both!!!
