I’m so grateful my mom refused to let us be brainwashed by a TV when we were growing up. I read books instead. Didn’t develop a ‘worship others ‘ complex. I'm glad everyone learned their lesson and apologized but it is so upsetting that they did it in the first place. I've seen all of the original photos taken back in the 1940's and they impacted me deeply. I can't even describe what I felt when I first saw them and every time since. But seeing the edits of those people posing in front of the skeletal prisoners and mass graves brought tears to my eyes and bile up my throat. I don't even have proper words for what that was, to take pictures right in those places. Just... Oh God...
