Regarding art in social media, I think the strongest reason they unban her was because she’s a known person. I’m an artist and I love drawing nude drawings that are not necessarily sexual but artistic nudity. Not only do I get taken down after adding a warning but even when I make an appeal on less exposed images they still put the warning on my account saying they did nothing wrong. I moved to Twitter btw where now all my posts have a warning for nudity even the ones about something completely unrelated. If they went through the effort to put a warning on multiple posts on Instagram and my whole account on Twitter why can’t they read my appeals and understand there’s nothing wrong with DRAWN artistic nudity

The ‘rabbit hole’ then becomes the problem. If you click on even ONE video, it will then recommend another, and so on and so forth until it becomes an echo chamber that can seem unquestionable. And when the info you’re given to decide on what to click is only snippets; seconds, sentences, pictures, that aren’t necessarily noticeably different at first glance from everything else around it, it becomes easy for it to appear innocuous, legitimate, and much more clickable. Without that part of it, it’s easy to wonder if some of these people would have ever found an audience.

I can understand why a business would feel that a person who actively was discouraging use of the product isn't someone they wish to have access to it. However I can't say as I agree that banning him was the correct choice. If he wasn't doing anything to damage the site, other state his opinion which people can decide for themselves if they want to take it, then I don't see grounds for it.

Until the government implements their own public social media platforms, Terms & Agreements are the only thing protecting others from harmful content. Overall I feel like it's a good thing to not give political extremists a platform... Sure, they'll just found their own spaces, but that makes it a lot harder for people to "fall down a rabbit hole" because you'd actively have to search for these spaces to get in there, rather than stumbling upon them on accident and then having them thrown at you by the algorithm... That being said, there should be a VERY clear line established of what qualifies as "bannable opinions" because otherwhise, who's to decide when to stop? I can very much see how it may start with extremist views, then slowly get watered down as time progresses because now the new "extreme" you see on those sites is a lot "tamer" than it used to be and eventually you won't be able to express even the lightest political opinion because it's seen as too extreme (of course this is a pretty exaggerated scenario but I guess my base point is just... Who decides when to stop without just making it a matter of that person/those people censoring any kind of political opinion they disagree with)

I’ve been one of those banned accounts:) Ive been shadow banned/deprioritized/hidden from Tiktok, KZbin, Instagram, Facebook, Spotify, Reddit, and Quora …and most likely this comment wont even be seen or responded to.. ….why I was shadow banned I don’t know all I have done is make all my own content from the ground up…all writing, drawing, painting, animating, filming, acting, editing, musical composition and scoring, lyrics, vocals, mixing, production, graphic design, and marketing…..my work is edgy but pretty not explicit in the least however I guess Big Tech now decides who gets to be an artist and who doesn’t…..:/
