Following an agreement with the copyright holder reproduced here is short film footage of a number of English and Scottish Football grounds taken during the 1979/1981 seasons. The original Cine film was shot in Super 8 format in colour and last approximately 90 seconds the quality is variable. (This version 640x480).
The footage captures the scene in and around grounds revealing the stands and terraces and they are a unique snapshot of crucially how the grounds appeared at the time before some of which disappeared forever or had yet to be redeveloped. Clubs not featured were either never filmed or they refused permsission to film at their ground.
In providing these clips respect respect the copyright holder and do not edit or redistribute any of the footage but links back to this post are fine.
Thanks to the Internet Football Ground Guide for their support.

Glad you all like my albeit short film. Never realised at the time that 40 years on it would be so popular. Sorry about the quality !

been following millwall for over 40 years used to stand in the halfway by the tea hut the new ground may be better but you couldnt beat the old den for the passion noise and putting the fear of god into away fans as they walked to the ground through the tunnels seen some crazy things at the old den and it was a dump but would go back there in a flash No one likes us We dont care

Went there a time or two following MCFC .... it was never the most welcoming of places, but i kinda liked the grounds closeness, and its tight surroundings.

First memory of the old den , my dad taking me late sixties early seventies, 5 or 6 years old. Smashing Luton 4 - 0, Malcom Mcdonald playing for them and we sat in the old forecourt orange seats. Many memories after that with mates on the halfway.

MJ DELEGATION : I remember that match. Malcolm McDonald playing for Luton was the up and coming golden boy of English football at the time. He got some stick that day.

I loved going to the Old Den as an away fan, great atmosphere, and loved these proper football grounds that were all different and unique and quirky in their own ways, and the Old Den was very much one of those. So sad that it's gone, the New Den lacks so much in comparison. Maybe Millwall fans prefer it, but as an away fan, I miss Cold Blow Lane, a proper footie ground! Have to say though that the Millwall fans talk it up way too much as it wasn't intimidating, but maybe it was for the players having to enter and exit in the middle of the home end. Whoever decided to put the tunnel there was a genius - can you imagine that design in a current modern ground.. ..

It was actually alright Stephen .... i'm a city fan , and i went to the old Den once or twice .... there was usually enough coppers around to prevent much trouble .... it's not a ground that is easily forgotten though, small, compact, tight surroundings etc.
