@Chelsea still the special ones I'm not one of those who said West Ham were undefeated, that stupid bs talk. Arsenal took The Shed as early as 1967, Millwall and West Ham have taken it, not including Spurs as they have always been a Mickey Mouse mob. Chelsea always talk bs about the documentary, we was at home, yet we had to go all the way to Victoria to confront Chelsea, as they werent going to do anything at Upton Park, the clash at Mile End, old bill were chasing West Ham down the steps, that wasnt Chelsea, West Ham got on the train and went to Victoria as planned. At Parsons Green, yes you bricked our train, I was actually impressed with that move, no one expected it, but Chelsea only did that out of revenge because they got done before both our cup games that night. 40 of us got out the station, I had to run across the tracks risking electrocution to get out lol, Chelsea started loobbing bricks n bottles at us, but for some reason wouldnt go face to face combat, which I thought I was strange, since you far outnumbered us and if you really went for it would have done us big time. Two Chelsea guys got a kicking in the road, a small mob of black Chelsea backed away when we run at them, I didnt Chelsea had blacks in their mob. The year we was both going for the title 86 I believe, the game at Upton Park got off are Plaistow, got as far as what was then the Green Gate pub and got absolutely mullered, 7 Chelsea got stabbed, that particular mob never got to the game, the old bill escorted them back to the station. Your top guy Hickey even said they got ironed out, plus I never said West Ham took the Shed every season, in about 82 or 83 season a load of West Ham went in there, in all the years I went to the Bridge I never went in the West Ham away end, either the East or West Stand, or the Shed,

I was there. There was about 30-40 miillwall in the shed end and chelsea bollted. old bill broke it up and chucked millwall out and marched them to the other end of the ground. thats when the horses came on the pitch because millwall in the away end pulled that high mesh fence down that you used to have. When I say bolted, i think you were shocked that we were there until we piped up. You can actually find film off it on you tube . i'm the skinny kid in the white jumper being escorted back to the away end. Just so you know i'm not lying or being biased. chelsea did show at millwall. CBL end too. I remember Babs the one armed guy, who they had let in with a walking stick. That was a good fight, a copper dragged me all the way out and down the stairs at cbl and threw me out. Lost a shoe and did't see the game. I know it's stupid, but it was genuine excitement .COYL.

I'd say chelsea, Millwall and West ham were the top firms in London 80s early 90s but to be honest in those times most clubs could get a firm together.. Manchester both hard as nails same on merseyside, zulus very tough game bunch, in reality all the big city clubs could turn out a good firm as could most of the small towns. London and Manchester had the advantage with numbers.. Not many clubs came to London or Manchester and had it all their own way although I do remember Everton at Kensington High Street doing us, but hey you win some you lose some.. 😂

Okey doke - this is from first hand experience of the games I’ve attended in recent years - I say it as I see it and I’m a Derby fan who lives in Tottenham - long story lol. Anyway - every time I have seen West Ham at the Lane they seem to get a squeeze - I’ve seen them charge Spurs and seen them run it’s as though they have this psychological advantage. Weird. On the other hand the Arsenal mob that came was pathetic and Spurs there the kitchen sink at them - it looked like bullying to me - as for Millwall Everyman and his dog came out for them and a few others from other clubs - it was a massive reception given. Millwall’s main boys hardly got a ticket. It was a non event in any case. Chelsea ? I don’t really know ..but I do wonder why West Ham get this reverence. I’ve seen it a few times down the lane.
@jamesbedding

Also went West Ham Millwall at Upton Park and the massive iron numbers swayed it but again mainly a non event . Millwall have always had bottle and that’s why despite the outcome they have a go win lose or draw. Respect .

Very interesting - all my mates were Gooners and obviously Denton was the name back then - I went to Northumberland park and sold programmes in the Paxton in 1984 - I must be one of a handful still living around here - just off Scotland green - it was a fun era for music etc and the clubs you mentioned I went to. I followed Derby in 1975 At the lane as a bit of a glory boy I suppose as they were champions - Charlie George scored in a 3-2 win - but I knew a lot of Spurs - a lot were part timers but were very handy. Arsenal didn’t take any prisoners for a few years - but as you said previously things change and we all move on.
