The Desert Fortress of Masada | A People's Fight for Freedom

The fight for Jewish freedom has existed for centuries. The story of Masada is the story of that fight against Roman rule and oppression. Masada is an amazing tourist location where King Herod had his desert fortress and where Jewish freedom fighters lived seeking refuge from the armies of Rome. When the Roman army laid siege to Masada, the Jewish inhabitants chose to commit suicide instead of being captured, murdered, tortured, and exiled by the Roman soldiers. Masada is a must-see when coming to Israel. It represents the Jewish people's centuries-long pursuit of freedom and honor.

This piece of history is pretty sad, because the toll of freedom costed them their lives. Elohim has created us in freedom, colonials don't have the right to opress others that were equally created by Elohim. We cannot take the freedom of others. I will never forget this place, I've visited it back in 2006 with a group traveling through Israel. May something like this never happen again until Baruch Haba B'Shem Adonai, amen.
