The Designer Using Fashion To Raise Mental Health Awareness | Amazing Humans

George, 22, started experiencing panic attacks six years ago. At the time he felt really alone and isolated, thinking that nobody else could be going through the same thing as him. So he started drawing sketches as a way of trying to understand his anxiety - and that’s when he thought about putting those designs on T-shirts. He then set up a clothing label to raise awareness of - and funds - for mental health, and collaborates with others suffering from conditions like depression and eating disorders, all with the hope of encouraging people to have open conversations about mental health.

I have mental health issues, depression, anxiety and bpd. I really like this idea, for me yesterday it was horrible and nearly everyday I think of suicide and it never leaves my mind. No body should be scared to get help for their mental health issues, especially men should reach out instead of being hidden away.

exactly, we should end the stigma by talking about it. mental illness is the same as physical illness. we should stop being ashamed of who we are.

It's so inspiring to see how you took your own mental health struggles and made it a mission, message to help others. We just came out with the mental health channel...we are two mental health therapist from two different parts of the US coming together to create helpful videos for those who might be struggling with mental health issues. It's nice to see other like-minded people passionate about helping others!
