What a clever idea to use hot dog buns! I want to try this out at the next barbecue. It's their loss. Kent is always a winner in my book. The downsides of tv is the majority is scripted and the shooting schedules are brutal. There's no way Kent would be able to have the freedom to tip his hat, hug, and salute at the end of a tv series these days. The only other person with a similar closing was Bob Ross. "God bless and happy painting", he'd say.

I have done a lot of out door camping , and camping in winter in sub zero temps. Dessert is always important cause it warms you up after eating a dinner. That sugar goes straight to ones blood, and the body starts burning it up right away and you feel warmer. Desert outdoors is just much better than indoors.

I just watched this series on Netflix. The first feeling I got was that the producers wanted Kent to follow some script that doesn't align with his personality. There seemed to be tension between the judges and Kent from the get-go. On the second episode, one of the judges says, " you're finally listening". There only had been one episode prior to that so that would have been the first time Kent had received feedback about his dishes. If that is the case, then why would the judge say, "you’re finally listening." It's not like he had received feedback several times and then was coming around. Kent had very little air play as well, which was shocking. You can tell that Kent wasn't having a good time and wasn't being himself in this series. The judges and producers did him dirty in this series. Kent is the man when it comes to outdoor cooking. Happy to see him doing well. Say hi to the pups for me (:
