With Raymond being that big game player, it goes aaaaaall the way back. Seen him since he was 6-7 years old. He just got that winner mentality. It’s great to see him grow i Detroit not only as a player but also as a person and leader

You could clearly see his winner mentality in the U-18 final vs Russia, he was just in beast mode when it really matters.

Berggren has had another good year as well regarding younger talent, 9 goals, 8 assists, and on a 4 game point streak. His game has gotten better on the boards, and he is showing he has a pretty decent shot as well, as he smoked it top right corner against SEA.

I think a big reason why they are playing so well if because of the issues they had at the beginning of the season. It's a chip on the shoulder. They want to prove to themselves they aren't as bad as Lalonde made them feel. A full season with the new coaches will likely be better than Lalonde, but we can't really expect them to go .775 p% next year and hit 127 points.

@@mescudderno certainly not but we can expect we won’t start 13-17-4!! If we didn’t have that abysmal start we would be cruising to the playoffs right now way ahead of all these other teams battling with us.

Finally getting excited as a wings fan. End of last year push was a tease and the beginning of this season was such a disappointment. I found my self doubting my emotional support. i really didn't watch much hockey probably since before covid and man the last 2 years have been such a roller coaster. Its a lot of fun to watch these last 20 or so games now lookin foreword to the future for this team vs doubting them entirely.

Even when almost everyone else was crapping on "The Yzerplan", I hung in strong. I know what Stevie is trying to do. It's still a smaller sample size, but clearly the Yzerplan was never the problem, it was coaching.

I was never shitting on Yzerman. He should have made a coaching earlier though as we all knew the team was horrible underperforming and it wasn’t because of lack of talent.

I think Max doesn't remember that the Wings already had a Swedish 5: Holmstrom, Zetterberg, Franzen, Lidstrom, Kronwall (and you could swap Holmstrom with Sameulson too in '08)

@ that’s the problem they weren’t playing Petry as a 3rd if they did then sure I’d agree aha. Holl hasn’t been bad one game he was brutal that really stood out to me. Petry has more shitty games than him

These results are why Anaheim fans want a coaching change. They are doing ok right now DESPITE Greg Cronin, not because of him. A new coach could make the right changes to allow some of the young guys to improve and play their roles well.
