Amazing to me that when someone simply speaks the thruth of how things work in this world, people are shocked and dismayed and call him a right wing traitor to the minorities.

The "breathtaking arrogance" of Johnson's "Great Society". I could not agree more. To think that he and his minions could engineer a just society is beyond contemptible. He was a horrible president, one of the absolute worst. Lyndon Bainful Johnson.

@@judierenfrow8073 LBJ was totally and fully responsible for removing Social Security out of it’s Non-Taxable Investment Status and putting it in the General Fund so he could tax it to pay for the Vietnam War. JFK was planning to sign an Executive Order into law when he got back from Dallas, an order that would have De-Established the Federal Reserve Board. The day after LBJ stepped into the Oval Office that order disappeared. I have long suspected that LBJ is the one responsible for JFK’s death.

I've been around for 7 decades. Grew up in a neighborhood 2 miles from downtown. I was 6 or 7 when they paved the roads in my neighborhood. It wasn't the worst, but was far from the best part of town a mix of Anglos and Hispanics as am I. It was pounded into me to do well in school. It was pounded into me that if I wanted something, I was to work for it. I grew up on VA benefits and social security from my Father who died when I was 8. I now have 3 separate college degrees, have been fully retired since I was 50. I did that by working my way through school and scholarships for my BS degree. The others came later but still on my dime. It boggles my mind to see people who say they cannot get away from poverty. It absolutely can be done, it just takes the decision to do it and to work for it. Education is not the entire answer, deciding not to be a victim and to work is.

People in rural America were working long hours in agriculture and earning a pittance. The urban areas were unionized. A pound of cotton fetched .34 cents. A woman's dress (union) cost $34.00. No Dollar Trees back then.

The Civil Rights Acts of 1964 and 1965 made one major change: Those that could afford to leave the inner cities left leaving the poorest socioeconomic blacks who were left in disarray by those that had previously provided stability. Preferential treatment was politically tolerable; but as one can plainly see is the majority of citizens wanted a level playing field after a reasonable time, say 30 years (and that was 30 years ago).

Review his compliance with President Nasser's request to remove UN peacekeepers in Sinia. Which then allowed the closure of the Straights of Tiran and caused the 1967 war between Egypt, Syria, Jordan and Israel. The impact of that war are still being felt today. Israel wiped out the various airforces in two to three hours and then their armies. Captured Gaza, Golan Heights and Sinia.

I was 13 yrs old when President Kennedy was assassinated. I remember watching Johnson taking the oath of office on the plane. I never liked Johnson, but at that moment of him taking the oath, I knew, with every fiber of my being, that Johnson was part of the assassination and was doing everything in his power to contain hide his joy. He was always an extremely prejudice man. As a white girl with a mother from Alabama and a Dad from Oregon, I was brought up that it didn't make any difference the color of a person's skin, because we all bleed red and we are all brothers and sisters in God. So to hear Johnson's double sided speeches, it really ticked me off. Thank you for bringing out more truth of what Johnson was.

@@jimandnena4 I have plenty of his books. As far as my credentials, you'll just have to use your imagination. You believe him because it fits your narrative. Redlining wasn't a thing, him crow was fake as well as convict leasing. There was also no mortgage discrimination for ppl that worked right beside white people in factories. Keep in mind whether he was a great president or not, FDR was in office for a lot of this and Woody Wilson screened Birth of a Nation in the White House. Maybe everything I said is false and the Blacks are just lazy....
