Weekly challenges: Only tier 1 dots on highschool

Back in the days when you could outrun most of the ghosts, I played Highschool all the time. It was so easy to just run down the hall during every hunt.

I haven't played for a few years, so this newfound knowledge makes me a little sad. Running down the hall while being chased was pretty fun.

@@ghostsuru8429 yeah they changed it so that most of the ghosts with a couple exceptions slowly speed up while in line of sight of you, the exceptions being Hantu, Thaye, Raiju ONLY while it is receiving the speed increase from an electronic item, and Revenant (yes it gets really fast when it sees you, but it doesnt slowly get faster over time beyond that initial speed increase.) The ghost will slowly go back to its normal speed over time after it no longer has line of sight, however this process takes a very long time and usually the ghost will never get back down to normal speed before the hunt ends. Also fun fact, the fastest ghost in the game is a Moroi while it has max line of sight speedup and you have 0% sanity, clocking in at 3.71 meters per second. To put this in perspective, a Revenant runs at 3 meters per second while its detecting a player.

Tarot cards are probably an array for ease of shuffle and uniqueness every single game. Getting rid of 1 card might require recalculating the odds and everything else etc depending on how exactly they implemented the system 17:15

Ironically i play prison and highschool most of the time, because I love how hard it it is to figure out where the ghost room is. To me taking a while to find a ghost brings me back to the game over and over. Hopfully they redo those maps eventually to make them better. but for now they very enjoyable :D

The only thing I'd want them to change about the high school would be to remove some of the non-interactive ground clutter, and replace them with actual objects that the ghost can interact with (and perhaps room numbers/names above the doorways for those ouija board responses). There's surprisingly very little for the ghosts to interact with in that map. Alternatively if they wanted to add smaller restricted versions of those maps like what they did with sunny meadows, I wouldn't object.

I just hate to go back to the van to get more equipment . It's such waste of time for me.. I would love them to add something like a little bag to have one more item in tier 1 for example and tier 2 u can bring 2 items etcetc.. idk I dont think it changes the game that much and it removes the part that is useless and boring. Like irl if u are a ghost profissional you would have a little bag to bring ur more stuff and even protections

And also piles of interactive papers on the desks in each room that could explode. High school could be the ultimate polty map if they would just allow it to be.

I get that too many objects would cause performance drops, but it seems like even the small houses have more actual objects than the high school. @Yakuma666 - I agree, I've been hoping they add a backpack or duffel bag that could allow players to carry more objects but with the tradeoff that it slows your movement speed and prevents you from sprinting unless you drop it. I find the van walk to be the worst on prison, because at least on the high school there are multiple exits but in the jail you have to backtrack to the main entrance every time.

My guess would be the Goryo did a DOTS hunt in that hunt where you couldn't hear it. Usually, you hear the footsteps a bit better than the hunt vocalization and during a DOTS hunt, only the hunt vocalization will be played.

they should add a random events like in GTA so exploring big maps isnt bad. when opening a door, youll see the ghost hiding behind it, some stares at you from a window, or just standing in front of a window looking at nothing, hanging on the ceiling or just sitting in a chair that happens in just 1 or 2 seconds. it give players the feeling of "did i see something in there?"

I really think they should give the school a rework, the same treatment as sunny meadows. Have a restricted version with variations or the full thing if you want a challange. The classrooms all just kinda look the same. If its a quiet ghost you often end up only finding it after it starts hunting with how the lights are sometimes lol

Yeah it's by far the worst map. It seems like they made it big just so they can have a "large" map. The rooms are boring and finding the ghost is just boring and tedious. If they made it a small town highschool with only 1 floor, and really put some time into the environment of the classrooms, gym, library etc. it would be a cool map

Another issue: So many rooms have literally NOTHING for the ghost to interact with and there's tons of books on the floor... That neither you nor the ghost can throw.

For the orbs call on the Demon. When you were on the far side of the cafeteria, there was a small white orb-like anomaly that moved up and down from left to right ( 12:20 ). It was near the ceiling.

I have the suspicion that when the tower card does nothing, it actually makes the ghost do a paramic whisper. But I'd have to test it on multiplayer, since you can't use the paramic and the cards at the same time.

This has always been my favorite map! I have to practically bribe my friends to play it with me. Many scary hunts in there! It could use a tiny update, but not much!

Highschool is so fked there are barely hiding spots, the ghost turned off the breaker every 2 seconds in one run which forced me to walk in the dark for the entire time without flashlight as a buddy held that one because WE MISSED OUR DELIVERY. Didn't die once at least but that was a more annoying challenge than what it sounded like first.

I'd agree that high school is the least played map, at least for me. High school shares too much in common with the old asylum and in all the wrong ways. Prison, I rather enjoy as it's a medium, indoor map with easily identifiable rooms. The prison cells are a bit rough as ghost rooms, but I think it's much more cohesive and solid.

The second devil card in the last run probably spawned a ghost event somewhere far down the hallway to the right. thats probably also why the hunt right after didnt start anywhere near the ghost room

I struggled with this one. I wound up repeatedly going in, guessing, triggering a hunt and trying to guess off that. Had to wait for multiple deogens before I completed it.

my first ghost on this weekly was awful. i couldn't find the ghost for 20 minutes, absolute silence, no activity. every room is 15° and it's hell. then i get a random door touch behind me. every room nearby is still room temperature and the ghost is no longer there. i say fuck it and pick banshee and leave. it was in fact a banshee spamming its ability 😭

I would rather have high school than prison because the only time the ghost is awful is when it's in the court or locker rooms, Prison has so many rooms between the cell blocks, cafeteria, shower rooms, and entrance room that are so big that it can be hard to get evidence and objectives done.

I had a Deo in the gym for this challenge with Music Box as cursed item For people who don't know, Deogen has writing, spirit box and dots and there was no way for me to get a quick hunt because of music box. It was a 40 minute investigation :)

I'm pretty new, but I much prefer brownstone over prison. Despite having many more rooms, the layout is understandable and the lights are easy to find. Prison is an absolute maze and the lights are so bothersome to turn on and off

I got super lucky doing this. Demon, round i drew tarot cards and immediately got hanged man (which was a spirit), and a mimic that copied a deo, then didn't next hunt.

On my first try on this one, I got Mirror and was lucky enough to have a room with a blackboard on the ground next to a window... and it really shortened the search time because I just had to look in the corner and check if the blackboard was on the wall or the ground. well, chalkboard... blackboard shows my age... heck they were already green by the time I was in school, but still called blackboards.

Out of all the large maps, I actually like prison less. There's so many different gates and pathways-at least for highschool, you have a good pathway. Still would appreciate them for remaking high school-once I even drew up a remake map 🤣

It wouldn't be annoying if only this weekly and many others always gave reasonably higher tier'ed gear, especially the tier 1 dots and I had to figure out a goryo with it, also I forgot that you can find breaker locations (I usually disable them) through the truck map, so that would have also saved the troubles. Also, High School is my least favorite map, harder to navigate than even prison and sunny meadows because many directions look the same, at least for me.

When he's talking about what happened to the ghost during the hunt because it seemed like it wasn't in the ghost room at 26:50 ... wouldn't the devil card into moon card into hunt mess that up at 23:30 ? Like it probably just did an event up stairs or somewhere you didn't see or hear it for the devil card, then started the hunt.

@@travist7851 yeah ik he had zero sanity, but it doesnt guarantee an instant hunt, in some of my no sanity runs the ghost was taking some time to start its first hunt. Insym's confusion looked like he was sure the ghost was hunting, but there were no signs of it hunting at all

@@randomannoyance You can also listen for the door to shut and lock. Though, for a while that's been unreliable to me. I'll hear it when nothing is happening, then I won't hear it when a hunt is actually happening. But that may also be what he heard.

@@travist7851 thanks for the tips but yeah i am aware about all the hunt signs, thats why i got so confused about this case, i rewatched it multiple times and there hasnt been a single indicator that the hunt started. makes me think that insym just accidentally thought he pulled out a death card which can happen even with hundreds hours of experience, thats normal

Is the Tower card only not working on certain larger maps? Unless I'm misunderstanding how the tower card works, I usually get a door touch, faucet/ shower, window touch, or something thrown on smaller maps.

@@Too2Cold Brownstone is an advanced map for higher skilled players. The point of a challenge is that it isn't a walk through the park, and certainly people who are new to the game are going to have a hard time with it. That's what makes it a challenge. You're approaching this from a very negative standpoint and making assumptions about the strategies without even asking what they are. If you want to learn some strategies I'm more than willing to share, and they don't require an encyclopedic knowledge of the game.

Man i hate highschool. It's so hard to navigate - hidng spots are too far away, too many long stretches wil no LOS breaks and it's difficult asf just to find the ghost room without a cursed posession. I tried to run this with a friend and it took so long to find the ghost room we may as well have just used ouji board cause we'd have lost the same sanity. Then you finally find the ghost room and it changes, or it doesnt give dots for ages. An absolute nightmare. I'll stick to medium and small maps from now on because boy was that painful.

Ever since they removed the bonus cash, and in turn, the xp reward for playing on medium and large maps, it lost all incentive to actually play those maps if ultimately what you want is to earn xp and level up or buy items etc. the only time I 'choose' to play large maps is when I decide to put it on random and see what I get given. they should bring back the bonus cash for the size of the maps, or tie it into the reward multiplier etc.

All goryos can hunt outside of their room, the only difference between a goryo and a regular ghost is that they can't change the favorite room, and they can't perform a long roam. Otherwise they're functionally the same, they can still roam outside their room.

High School is 100% my least played because, while the size and "hide-ability" is comparable to Prison, it also all but nullifies the Ouija Board as a cursed possession.

The trick to ouija board on high school is that you use it the complete opposite way that you would on any other map. On most maps you'll ask the ghost where it is for a 50 sanity drain cost. On high school you ask the ghost to hide and seek for 0 sanity drain cost, then when the hunt is done you quickly check the hallway temperatures to find the coldest hallway because the ghost cools down whatever room it's standing in. So once it leaves its ghost room it cools down the hallway right outside its room. If you can't hear the ghost during the hunt, finding the cold hallway eliminates 75% of the map from investigation.

It was fine. I play it time to time, but finding the ghost,. sometime is easy, but most of them, it is a pain in the ass. I mostly do School at 0 sanity and at 10X custom setting. Prison and Highschool need a rework as well, tbh! They don't need do a lot, but rework and update them.

High School is too creepy for me, I hate it. First time playing it we had the grudge girl ghost and my buddy disconnects at the most suspenseful moment because we was just messing around in the bathroom with the OG spirit box. It gets silent, the power is off and I hear her iconic moans down the hall. I NOPED SO HARD and til this day I won't do High School unless I'm in a group.

Idk if he checks comments, but if you see this, are you planning to ever play ghost exile and demonologist again? Both games have gotten quite some updates. All ghosts in demonologist now have info and a personality, plus there are hiding spots now. In ghost exile there is a new item and custom rituals. Both games also have new maps. Would love it if you made these games more popular cause they are heavily underrated and there seems to barely be a community for those games.

A pretty easy challenge, took 4/5 attempts (Can’t remember which) and I got Obake, Rev & Hantu but I’d say prison or SM(R)are the least favourite maps because of how annoying and scary they are? I personally never play on prison, I’ve tried playing SM(R) a few times but I’ve most likely played School more than I’ve touched any other big map ✅

And we can't find it til the end. just my afk friend back n told me she saw ghost from the cam then we go to that place.but ghost not show up or give any evident so we decide to leave. i guess it shade n its correct! after that I go there again once n don't go anymore 😂
