I never knew I loved country music this much. I feel like it was made for me. Good lord it's so good.
@growl326 Жыл бұрын
This is why country music gets a bad rep. This is to country as, Hank Williams Jr is to pop. Time to expand your vocab, Devils Makes Three winds up in Cabaret, Austin Americana, Dark Folk for me. Those obviously are all made up, like your categorization of country.
@growl326 Жыл бұрын
I don't want to promote another band on this fantastic song. But I feel the urge to expand you're horizons since you think this is country. Check out Peculiar Pretzel Man and tell me it's country music too.

God, I remember the best show I've ever seen in my life. It was in Santa Cruz, at The Barn on High Street. The Devil Makes Three played after The Eligible Bachelors. Unbelievable! The place was packed and the sound was great. I will always remember that show.

You're mumbling words But I can't hear anymore You're totally entertained But I am absolutely bored To the sharks with your conversation And see what they say As you're thrown overboard And disappear into the waves Down to Neptune's kingdom And the ink-black drink Octopus bartenders You can hear the mermaids sing That'll teach you all to try and disobey Here's a one-way ticket to your watery grave And we say To all our enemies, we'll see you in hell We're gonna walk 'em off the plank into the wishing well Down to Davy Jones' Locker where the fishes sleep I won't be praying for you so don't be praying for me To all our enemies, we'll see you in hell We're gonna walk 'em off the plank into the wishing well Down to Davy Jones' Locker where the fishes sleep I won't be praying for you so don't be praying Don't be praying for me Kill all those prisoners until their skin turns green Let the salts of the ocean wash them skeleton clean Raise up those oars and let them fall As the wind steadily sings you can hear the crew call To all our enemies, we'll see you in hell We're gonna walk 'em off the plank into the wishing well Down to Davy Jones' Locker where the fishes sleep I won't be praying for you so don't be praying for me To all our enemies, we'll see you in hell We're gonna walk 'em off the plank into the wishing well Down to Davy Jones' Locker where the fishes sleep I won't be praying for you so don't be praying Don't be praying for me

I have seen DM3, four times live. You have not truly lived, until you have experienced the energy from their performance!!! A couple years back when they were in Portland I went to the show even though I had had a very intense spine surgery just two weeks prior to the show. But it didn't matter. No amount of pain would keep me from seeing them again. Not that it has to be said but this song live is just absolutely epic. Love from Oregon 🌲💚

i remember the soldiers coming home from afghanistan playing this, and most of them said to me how futile the war was, as all wars are, disgusting the elites keep sending the lower classes of to fight each other, or to fight in civil wars, for the profit and power consolidation of the rich, absolutely disgusting good men are dying by the milllions for the enrichment of the political and elite class. i wish for a world where the arms industry isnt the biggest business industry, and where good men are not sent to die for their so called betters, who are in fact, just criminal psychopaths who have seized control and power. the killings fields of nato and the rich absoulutely disgust me, and it disgusts me most soldiers can only understand it and articulate their feelings about it through music and comradeship.

@gentlemancharmander44112 жыл бұрын
I hope this was sarcasm, but if not, that’s okay. This can be a good learning moment. Davy Jones Locker is a term that has been around much longer than that movie. It is a metaphor first conceived in the 1700s and means when a sailor has drowned and is now laying dead at the bottom of the sea
