Why bring religion in this?
@JeremyColl-zu8vq4 ай бұрын
@@d-eftones how can you not? Everything came out of Jesus and is going back to him, for better or worse. He made all things by himself, thru himself and for himself. He lived as flesh amongst us, tempted in every way and remaining sinless. He gave his perfect life as the sacrifice God requires for the sin of the world. He whipped Satan's butt, freed the captives from Hell and rose again on the 3rd day. He walked and taught 40 more days, then ascended in clouds up to his Father. He's coming back the same way he left, but before then he will appear and shine God's light in the clouds over Jerusalem near midnight, and every eye will see it. It'll happen when light returns to Hanukkah full moon, to fulfill the prophecy in Amos. God promised Israel that he will ruin their feasts, and he will, right at their focal point. He's gonna show me that they worship the wrong light. They still won't get it, and will fall for antiChrist lies for awhile, til he shows his true face anominates desolation. Then they'll run thru the desert to the caves in megiddo. The earth will swallow up the armies that chase them. Jesus doesn't want us to have religion. We all do things religiously. Jesus wants a personal relationship with you. Talk to him. Let it all up. Then he still and listen to what he tells you. We have to be still and KNOW that he is God. We have to quiet our minds and just worship. Love him like a young boy loves his daddy.

Those bends look like they’re gonna snap, but they’re so loose and the action is low, the way I set my guitars up. He’s in that rare zone you get in , where you don’t have to look at anything, and you just lean into the emotion and feel of sounding awesome. Dude is amazing.

If I may offer a counterpoint; Radio is where music goes to die. As something gets played for it's popularity, it creates a pressure on the artist to conform. To stay popular, you have to linearize your sound. God forbid a popular artist drastically changes their tone/sound. By staying 'under the radar' artists are allowed to remain in their own zone, and do as they please. Plus, Radio is for 'easy-listening'. These guys benefit from energy, improvisation, and energy. I would be willing to bet these guys love playing live for their fans, more than anything else. You don't get that if you get played on the Radio. Which is more than anything the reason for Radio is dying out, it's not challenging people to listen. Music is never dead, live instrumentation might be on a decline, but if you dig around on the Internet, plenty of it is there. Perhaps you can look away from the Radio as a source of new tunes moving forward?

Went to see Shakey Graves when he was in Toronto not too long ago. About an hour before the concert my wife and I ran into him in a store. We got our picture taken with him. He was generous with his time and an absolute gentleman. And the concert was great too.

Prior to taking up guitar myself five years ago, I would not have had the overwhelming appreciation for this Masterful performance that I do today; I discovered this just a few days ago and I find it absolutely brilliant! I'm blown away by how drawn I am to it (I can't stop myself from listening to it over-and-over) there's an emotional presence in which I find so refreshing and inspirational that I'm pretty sure there was a transfer of a soul involved here! LoL Being a writer of several hundred song lyrics and ideas, in varying degrees of completion, I was inspired to the point of writing my own lyrics to it in which I titled "The Lesser of my Two Evils".

Found this video a couple of days ago and I can't stop listening to this guy. I'm obsessed. I haven't heard anything like him before. His music is perfect mix of western, rock, and folk. He's described as a country folk artist but it he sounds more western than country to me.

I definitely hear the folk in his music, but yeah, country doesn’t really fit what I’ve heard so far. Folk/bluegrass/western, and this particular song has some deep blues vibes.

He had a voice born of a thousand thousand cigarettes and too much whiskey. It brushed across your ears like a gentle hand accustomed to hard labor. The rough callous accentuating the yearning heart beneath it. You heard the life in the voice. The years of mistakes, the tries and failures and getting back up again. The years of victories and the relief when getting back up finally worked. A voice that carries stories in its body as much as in the words it forms. His voice was rough and raspy, and rich. It was satisfying and fulfilling in spite of the broken corners and splintered beams. A voice that you could open up and relax into. It was a good voice. It was a very good voice.
