This episode is being filtered to us by some unknown villain who is interfering with what we are seeing. The winks to the camera, the dancing - this is not Doctor Who being reinvented again, this is very sinister stuff. We are watching something distorted like the Valeyard distorted the Matrix in The Ultimate Foe. All the Doctor's adventures are captured by the Matrix - Missy had slices of the Matrix at her beck and call. This villain whoever they are is distorting what we see. And in all of this is Susan wearing a perception filter.

Hmm after mulling on it, i think rubys a plant from the toymaster, or possibly the master.. i think the actress susan twist playing numerous different characters, the latest being s. triad is because she IS the tardis, remember how the doctor bigenerated, then said were still in the toymasters world and pulled out a cartoon hammer then split the tardis into two, its been acting odd ever since, so maybe shes the other half in disguise, its been done before, Being in the toymasters world would explain why everythings super cheesy, n why its dr seussy and breaking the 4th wall, and why all the episodes seem so off....also when the so called sonic was used to silence maestro it wasn't blue like it usually is. But is one who waited.. Omega I hope so.. But may be none of this

Not a bad episode, camp and ott as Dr Who usually is. The episode wasn't advertised as a Beatles episode, just that they were in it (if you watch the promos they all about the Maestro character) Maestro itself was a great villain, when you start watching the episodes from the 80s and 90s you'll see what real cringy villains look like 😅😅😊😊 I wasn't too impressed with the song at the end but suppose it fits in with the storyline. 😊👍 all in all an ok episode to Starr the new season off with.

The difference is 9 and 10 were actually good. Villains were built up, episodes had real stakes built in, companions were productive, and villains actually had a reason and flow and were actually scary and dangerous. This was literally a clown show with no story, no flow, no reason and the worst acting on any show since tv came out. The villain made the dark elves from Thor seem like Thanos with how much character they had to them compared to this pile of shit

I grew up with old who so if you have watched old who you know the acting is leagues better than it used to be and, that's main cast and, side characters included. This episode specifically will eventually be compared with the greats of this shows lifetime. It has all the elements of a great one off Matt smith episode. Does it have camp yeah when does doctor who not have camp. I mean seriously just say you can't stand trans people at least then you'd be being honest.

I wonder if this will be the penultimate season of the second era of Doctor Who. I don't think it will survive if Disney doesn't extend its agreement to fund the show beyond the second season. I always watch the first two or three stories but he hasn't resonated with me so I don't think I will bother watch the rest of his time as the Doctor. The show is getting silly and stale. It really does need to be put in hiatus for for a number of years.

Ailiorotic? A few points of clarification on the show's musical references from a musician. Aeolian chimes. There was an Aeolian harp - an instrument "played" by the wind. Aeolian more commonly refers to a mode - In the Bronze Age these represented the preferences and characteristics of various Aegean tribes. In post-medieval times Aeolian is the so-called natural minor (A to A on a keyboard), just as Ionian refers to the standard major (C to C). Both contain tritones incidentally (see below). The music of the spheres gets chucked in as well. Pythagorean in origin, but he became a cult leader and was so vainly obsessed with the mystical notions of perfect resonating ratios that he had a student killed for proving that root 2 was irrational. In addition, much to his annoyance, his ratios for intervals didn't repeat at the octave so for a time full scales weren't allowed. The tritone, the heart of "the devil's chord", was never banned by the church. It was a common occurrence in polyphony and both liturgal and secular harmony although mostly used as a passing but vital tension. They of course include a snippet from Danse Macabre which does feature the interval to evoke diabolical goings on. Think of it as a jokey musical horror cliche - Saint-Saens did. The idea of musical duels came about in the early classical era as composers competed for tenure and developed until Liszt pretty much invented the concept of the rock star. There was also Paganini (jokingly, and only jokingly, presumed to have sold his soul to the devil for talent). He developed modern violin technique (as Liszt did with the piano) but also innovated. One of his scores was deemed physically impossible but when he turned up and played it they realised he'd retuned the strings (thereafter called scordatura). He is also therefore the father of guitar "drop" tunings. Although he got the idea from various folk instruments. There are moments in the musical duel that are genuinely impossible (eg a rapid pizzicato passage and some four handed piano moments) and have obviously been achieved with sample writing. None of the main cast do a remotely good job of miming playing. Gibson can obviously "play a bit" but there's no way she's capable of the full piece. I only saw a few instances of hand doubles used at the piano but the crossediting to "rest of body" cutaways is terrible. Trust me, I've done such gigs as both hands and editor. The average pop video is done better. I've played the famous Mrs Mills piano (she was a popular jovial auntie-like mid C20 British ragtimer) - it's an awful pile of firewood and has as much "character" as an impacted wisdom tooth. And that is the main Abbey Road room in the diegetically bad orchestra and non diegetically awful dance sequences (seems Doctor Who has gone Austin Powers). It's a genuinely impressive space but there are better these days. And breathe. Does any of this matter in a fun and silly TV show? Not really. But I'm afraid you can't help but notice what you know and with their resources they should have done far better. Imagine Auf Wiedersehn Pet with the actors using cake slices to lay on cement. And yes - like most musicians - I've done other jobs and have laid bricks in my time. I was once playing piano at a restaurant when the sink went phut. I happened to still have my kit bag in the car so I nipped it up for them while the rest of the band carried on. Final point, if anyone's read this far. Please, please, please understand that music (like any other "creative" endeavour) is mostly craft. When you get good at that craft, through hard boring work, some art may emerge. So whatever you want to do, do it with passion but don't get precious...

Admittedly having not watched the episode and only going by the clips, I think Jinx brings too much Jinx to the character. Anyone that knows his/her work would say the same. I know a lot of it comes down to how the episode is written and directed but personally it could have been done in a way to move away from the Jinx persona and form a new character

From the clips here, Jinx Monsoon (Mistro) is being exactly like Jinx Monsoon. Jinx, for those that don't know, is well known in the drag scene and RuPaul's Drag Race. Very excentric character and by the looks of the clips played it exactly as though it was Jinx and not a different character.

Why did they have a drag queen trans guy as a villain? This episode also had a lot of gay propaganda shoved in your face with no remorse. I know Doctor Who has always been a little woke, but this was way more than in any Doctor Who episode expect for maybe from Jodie Whitaker's time. Also, I agree that the ending song was cringy. I think a musical episode might workish, if there is an in universe reason for it, like maybe something is turning everything they say into songs or something. To me, at least, Doctor Who shouldn't be a musical, and that's okay. That's just not what Doctor Who is. It would be weird if in a Star Wars movie they suddenly did a musical song, it would feel weird. It's not what Star Wars is, or what Doctor Who is, and that's okay.

You’re being waaaayyy too nice. Nothing from this worked. It was worse than cringe. It was unwatchable. I have never in my life not finished an episode of doctor who. I stopped this episode in the middle because I just couldn’t. Acting was worse than I’ve ever seen before. Villain was so fucking horrible that she made the dark elves from Thor the dark world look like Thanos. The story made literally 0 sense and was rushed and pushed and none of it worked. This is without a doubt the worst episode in the history of TV. Even the doctor and ruby made no sense in this and their acting was horrible and cringe. You’re right. There were no stakes at all and after hyping the giggle up so much, they couldn’t have fallen flatter on their face. Honestly, just stop with all the lesbian/gay/trans bullshit that nobody gives a fuck about and write a god damn story that’s relatable and entertaining! They need to honestly shut down production, fire the actors and start new with a different cast and a better writer and director. Bring back the David Tennant days of doctor who. A doctor on a mission to save the world and is faced with real difficult choices that question morality and life and death. Something where either the doctor or his companion end up learning from one another. Also, if you’re going to introduce a villain that is badder and scarier than the toy maker, the master and everything else before it, actually build it up! Don’t just throw in a generic villain that can’t act and go yeah, music bad, so bye bye music. That’s it. The toy maker could’ve done that easily 3 times over without blinking. How does that make her more scary and dangerous than him? Even in doing so with the music, one person plays music and all of a sudden, it’s like everyone can play music again… so what was the fucking point of taking it away? Why did she even care about taking it away? That was never even explained… Why did she suddenly appear? Was she locked up somewhere? Why did this moment matter? Literally nothing made sense and nothing worked and this show is just going out sad! I doubt anything less than a change in direction and actors will be able to save it. I’m no longer watching this show. It was so amazing with Tennant and Smith and the Daleks and Time Lords and the Master and the weight of every episode and building up characters and real lessons learned about life and morality. Now the lessons are whether or not to spend time with babies and being transgender or some dumb shit… like… really? Nobody gives a single fuck about that. It’s just so bad
