You know it’s funny it’s like the band is growing up with us and their sound is evolving with the times. Each album they put out is perfect for the era it came out in.

it saddens me to see comments on other reactions like “they peaked at ___” or “they’ve been missing since dead throne.” for what this song is on its own, without comparing it to what they use to sound like, it’s an AMAZING song. this band, imo, just doesn’t release anything terrible. that chorus!

100%. Their zombie ep is one of the huge things that got me into metalcore in general, but space ep, and the act, ZII, and now this song are all so amazing. I’m so glad they’ve chosen to evolve their sound over the years.

@@UmamiDeBoi i agree whole heartedly! it’s like people truly want them to create the same record over and over again. it’s like, appreciate that they can change switch their sound so effortlessly! gotta let artist be artist. it’s different if someone says “not for me” like i understand that, but when they say i don’t like it because it’s not the past, then it’s like COME ON. 😂

@@adriansaldana1739 damne if you do, damned if you don’t. The same people that slam bands for evolving are the same ones that would inevitably bitch about the band staying the same for decades. I would rather a band play and make the music they want and not just be miserable making the music fans want to hear. Better to have them enjoy it than burn out and stop completely.

I loved this! The chorus was really good, makes me want to keep hearing it again. Z2 was my first experience of TDWP so don't have the nostalgia factor but have certainly liked their recent music!

I love the atmosphere in this song, haunting. Very solid blend or ZII and The Act. I really like this and hope the next album is gonna have this direction!

I still to this day have Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord and Plagues in my playlist on rotation. This was one of the very first bands to really get me involved with metalcore and then evolved into more deathcore.

I've never been a massive TDWP fan, they're just one of those bands I missed and never got into. Saying that, I really respect how long they've been in the scene, yet they haven't shown any signs of selling out to rock radio or jumping to other genres and alienating fans. They've managed to stay relevant in whatever the current metalcore scene is, whereas other bands either stagnate or go too far. It's not an easy thing to do for so long.

Yes!! That outro!! would actually love to have more of it earlier, like during the verses or something

You did though! After the first chorus after the verse with the main riff, that part has the same sludgy breakdown rythm

This actually slapped. My favorite TDWP is still "With Roots Above.." but this was a dope track overall. First one in a while I felt compelled to give a second listen immediately. Mike's vocals at times border on emo screaming (Touche Amore, La Dispute) mixed with his usual kicks and it's a really interesting stylistic choice I'm super into, and Jeremy sounds great on a track. Loving the extra vocals from Jonathan (keys), that layering with Mike is really neat. I also love how the final chorus is a different chord progression, that's something I love seeing in a song. Edit: Oh yeah, forgot to mention, somewhat lighter sound from the band and yet still brought the heavy. Overall, this is gonna be going on repeat for me and it has me really stoked to listen to whatever comes next.

Chemical was amazing! I'm 33 and listened to tdwp since I was in high school. They have evolved in a way that is so natural and soo tdwp. The Act was epic, and Z2 was all good. They can do it all and pushing metalcore to a new level. Mike's vocals are stellar!!

To me this band is one of the very rare examples of how great a band can progress and how the sound should evolve and become more mature over the years. I've just found TDWP like two months ago for the first time and I already listened to the second half of their discography starting with the first Zombie EP and all the way through now. I will obviously still listen to the first three albums, but I already listened to the singles. Normally I'm really a sucker for heaviness, like as heavy as it gets would nearly always be my preference. But with TDWP it's very different, I love how their lyrical approach has changed, how their sound in my opinion became more emotional and versatile. I can just feel the words and the emotions way more since the band has evolved. Which is why I really can't understand other Prada Fans who hate on the albums after Dead Throne, because there are surprisingly many of them saying they did get soft or that Mike's Vocals got worse. But I really love those albums (8:18, Transit Blues, The Act, etc.). Can't get enough of this band and it's a huge surprise to me because I expected just another "generic" Metalcore Band but instead I found a really great and in my opinion very underrated band. Love all of their work.

This track are very impressive, they make a artsy stuff in metalcore and not use template style like another band in this era. As a metalhead, i think you need to hear and react Isyana Sarasvati with song called Unlock the Key, she blend between opera and progressive metal with smart way. Good job man !

That has to be the lowest tuned breakdown they have. That was CHUNKY. Mike vocals will never die. That’s not even fair to still be doing this.

Their sound is more mature but the composition seems aimless. The riffs aren't standing on their own. None of the melody in the chorus seems obvious to me. Where tension is building where its releasing. Not enough tying together all the cool sounds the band is creating since the space ep. And that's compositional immaturity. In their defense they're trying new things and that's hard but I dont think they've found a comfort zone yet and it comes out in the songs. Happy other people are enjoying it. they just went from being my favourite band to amateurs in their own field and I dont stand behind that. Im sure people will disagree with me here especially on this video but it takes a different kind of maturity to put together a riff that makes sense in a vaccuum and then build off it into a bigger song and have many independent ideas with integrity fit together. The trade is worth it for the more linear sound I know people say is immature that you get from their old material
