"Oh, Mr. Petrie." Gotta love Mrs. Billings.

Mrs. Billings is played by Eleanor Audley, who voiced Cinderella's stepmother, Lady Tremaine, and the evil fairy Maleficent.

She appeared several more times as "Mrs. Billings".

She was also Lisa's (aka Eva Garbo's character's) mother-in-law in 'Green Acres' and the voice of Liz's (aka Lucille Ball's character's mother-in-law) on the radio show 'My Favorite Husband', that would later be made into the tv show "I Love Lucy'.

I loved the scene where Buddy swiped the tickets from Mel's pocket, but they ruined it by returning them to him.

I really like it when Laura dresses up like a lady: gorgeous, modest & chic dresses. 👗 Let’s bring modesty & femininity back!! 💁♀️

I wonder whether the "tight shoes" bit was an in-joke. Joe Devlin, who played the guy with last week's ticket, was in a movie, many years earlier, called TIGHT SHOES.

Given their propensity for this kind of thing, I'm sure you're right. Good catch!

In those days, everyone really did dress up to go to the movies, theatre, even fly on airplanes.

Does anybody notice in one show Rob will say Lori and in the next show Rob will say Laura ?
@fromthesidelines8 ай бұрын
Rob sometimes called her "Laurie" in earlier episodes. By the middle of the first season, he used her full name at all times.

So season 1 episode 10 Dick calls her Laurie and episode 11 he calls her Laura......

@@chadbaxter5578 I have learned that in season one they didn't seem to be settled on what her name was going to be.

Why was Rob so clumsey? He was always tripping. Those pratfalls get tiresome after awhile. Jerry Helper was cute. I always liked Millie. She was hillarious.

@susannaCdonovan2311 ай бұрын
It took a lot of skill to trip and fall the way Dick van dyke did it, without breaking any bones. He did pantomime and his own stunts. Very talented actor, dancer, artist.

Typical male. Gets into hot water by forgetting to get the tickets, and then expects Laura to call Mrs. Billings and say he can't get them. That is the sign of a bloody coward. To afraid to do it himself. Sometimes the writers of this show are such sexists.
@amierichan7231 Жыл бұрын
It was 1961.
@kalyanvaghela4758 Жыл бұрын
But those time are much better then now now girls are not sexist they they are Empowered by onlyfan and pornhubb
@matthewbond7034 Жыл бұрын
That moment when Rob wants Laura to do his dirty work ends with him admitting that this is still all his own fault, and he prepares, in Act III, to face the mob. Although the show sometimes evinced sexism, it uses this scene to critique sexism.

they use the same stereotypical woman on all these shows, even the flintstones. they always have a hat and pearls and talk with the same phony affect. and the main characters are always TERRIFIED of them.
