Richie was NEVER cute and/or funny. The script writers made him a royal PIA in every episode, with an ugly whine and screech in many of them. The actor, Larry Mathews, probably was a decent kid, but the writers were shameful in their portrayal of him as a regular child.

Ritchie entering the room and watching his father kiss a strange woman is somewhat similar to a plotline from THE NEW DICK VAN DYKE SHOW from the 70s that was proposed but never filmed. One of Dick's children barges into his bedroom and discovers mom and dad having sex. I think Carl Reiner left the series when CBS refused to allow that plot to be filmed.

@@Redwhiteblue-gr5em Thanx. I vaguely remember “ It Happened at the World’s Fair” in Seattle in 1962. It was relatively near where I lived in British Columbia. I have been to Seattle many times and used to travel to Europe in the 1990’s through SeaTac rather than Vancouver. I have lived in Asia now for over 25 years and was back in Seattle 23 years ago in June 2001 going back to Canada to visit. It had changed. Even then there were too many homeless people on the streets and people didn’t seem ss friendly as before so I never returned. After that I went through Japan to Vancouver going back to visit. Since then I spent a lot of time in Bangkok which is abig city and not really as seedy as Americans may think and to Europe via Amsterdam or Rome.

While Laura isn't acting completely sensible, Rob isn't being very considerate either. He knows Laura doesn't like her, so why is he coaching her?
