A very, very rare quality of analysis that you deliver like your surfing. Effortlessly.

I am loving these videos of 1 on 1 with Clayton going super in depth No hate towards Ant at all! I still love when they do breakdowns together and when Clayton is brutally honest about Ant's surfing because its relatable to an average joe like me

Cheers. This makes so much sense. I get caught up the top a lot at Urbn Surf. Love OMBE. Feel I’m learning more at 50 than o have in 35 years before. 😊

Such a well explained vid. Love all the OMBE content. Love this format of Clay analysis against three average Joes. Please do another vid going backside. I bought their 12 week program a few years back and it has been amazing.

Very helpful thank you, do you have tip or technique to get on to the front foot?
@Tiaguini78 Жыл бұрын
Great analysis. It is very difficult for the intermediate surfer to understand what is he doing wrong and your explanation makes it perfectly clear. Thank you for your work, I have been learning a lot. It seems have I also have the same problems as all the mention surfers. One thing I noticed when seeing this surfer’s (and myself) is that we all stand to straight on our surfboards, especially on the legs/lower body. Any ideas/tips how we can fix this? Thank you!

Are there any short verbal cues/mantras or visualizations i.e stay tight to pocket, Look up at lip, draw vertical lines.. that would help keep this as a focus point when surfing?
@ombesurf Жыл бұрын
Sounds like you've just made a few for yourself there already! Whatever connects with you is the most important cue

Nice video with good information to be aware of. One question, what wave setting was this surfed in? 🤙🏽
@titosurf1 Жыл бұрын
Question for another video : When I make my drop, should I look down the line ? or at the bottom ? because everyone tells me I should not look down at the bottom of the wave because im gonna nose dive, but then I struggle to go vertical...

The problem for average joes like me is that when take off everything goes faster than I can asume. When I finish the wave a lot of times I’m thinking oh shit I didn’t put my hands right or I didn’t put the knees forward or damn! I look down another time. Great video

Excellent vid, thanks again! Just a question on the take off, to get closer to the wall for the bottom turn, is there an element of a drop/leaning slightly on tail so it hits first? I've had a few take offs \where I felt like I was about to nose dive going straight down and it felt like I was a little too much leaning forward for the curvature of the wave near the wall.
@ombesurf Жыл бұрын
Where were you looking during the take off?
@pete_street Жыл бұрын
Glance down line, glance bottom turn location, hold look at lip where I want to go (don't worry I've consumed all OMBE surf tips by osmosis). I can feel the limits of the board rocker at this juncture (medium rockered board,) and have noticed advanced surfers almost air dropping/tail tapping the takeoff. @@ombesurf

So many counterintuitive things seem to be the difference between average and excellence
@joeblow2183 Жыл бұрын
That was good. Intermediate surfers have a hard time thinking vertical and on unpredictable beach breaks it’s even harder.

The third guy - is he guilty of the surf skate wiggle after the first turn?
@ombesurf Жыл бұрын
Possibly, but hard to say where that movement came from, looks like bad fundamentals and awareness of how to do those fundamentals.
