This one is tough for a lot of people. People are emotional. I've been able to do what you're talking about hear, and I've found you can help the more emotional people by being as KIND as you can while you're being assertive. Great video!

My son is 6. He's as stubborn as me. I find that I must be assertive for a very long time and Never get angry or I'll never get what I want from him.

i learned from eckhart tolle to STICK TO FACTS. when being assertive. that there is nothing wrong with being firm but in control of your emotions. " my soup is cold can you please heat it up" if the waiter brought cold soup. that's fact. but when you go to the mindset " how dare you " or "jerk, bitch". ect. is when the ego gets involved.
