I have a point to prove.

I made a mistake (but at the time, I thought it was the right call with the information I was given ) (volunteer) refereeing at at a kids track and field meet. One round, a Runner stepped into next lane, I called the foul. Team won but got disqualified. Later, colleagues said they would have let it go unless he bumped or impacted someone else and to not be so strict, but at the time , I thought that I was to call if the runner was over the line into another lane. Ugh. I feel so bad, but there’s not much I can do, the call stands. I have a lot of regret though, team would have made it to one more round and possibly won. I really did make the call I was under the impression was fair though.

From personal experience, getting fired is not the end of the world. At first you feel empty, worthless, you blame yourself. This is natural. Sometimes getting fired is really nothing to do with you, but the 'politics; of the organisation or the fact someone does not like you. But getting fired really can open up new doors and put you on a much better career trajectory. After being fired I am now working for myself in the same field I was fired from, earning in the process 6 times the amount of money per month I was getting paid. Getting fired from my old job inadvertently was the best thing that could have happened to me career wise. Of course when you get fired there are challenges...how you are going to pay your bills etc, but ultimately it could and probably will turn out to be the best thing ever.

I genuinely disagree. When you say that people think of a person as they tell others to think of them this really is not accurate. Actions speak louder than words and I have met many braggards and liars. I do not think they are great or heroes and neither does anyone else.
@IamAWESOME3980Ай бұрын
Employers arent usually honest about why they fire you. There is no reason to stay or work for someone who does not appreciate you in any case.
@plextoobАй бұрын
Uh No. First of all, an employer can fire an employee at any time for no reason as long as equitable severance is paid to the employee and they agree. The company doesnt care what the fired employee thinks. Also, there are morally comprimised people out there, roughtly about 50% of the population compared to the other 50%. A boss, leader, company etc can be morally comprimized and be wrong in that context. Its perfectly fine to call that out to HR upon being fired. Also if your boss is the culprit and is morally comprimised, incompentent, etc it is also fair to call that out. HR generally is interested in hearing both sides. So dont worry about the implications of bringing up your side of the situration but do not expect the decision to be reversed as 99.9% of the time it wont be no matter what you do. Do not think they care. Just do not break the law or threaten. I thinkt his utube guy is wrong. My opinion is based on my own experiences over 40 years and having been fired multuiple times because I work in tech and thats the way it goes.

Good video, I like when bosses give their own screw-up stories, because they can relate and it motivates you to recover and do better. That said, I hope he made it successfully to the second meeting! 😂

Good but difficult sentiment. Likely to the point of being insincere-but I guess that's part of the lesson. Your career is a job. It's an act. Do it, go home. Do what the people who are in charge of your career care about. Focus on that. Don't do anything that could somehow make them look bad. It won't end well for you.

As a guy who works and manages a bike store in india which deals with brands like Trek , Specialized and Giant We've got about 10 bikeshops in a 10 mile radius and India being a very price sensitive market , I don't think adding value to the products help much , in fact I would say it's maybe a 10% thing. I have been working at the same bike shop for the past 2 years and tried a 1000 different techniques and it's not always a hit. When the market dips u will have to dip too

Call the boss a racist. Even though my boss is my father and I am an upper-class white Irish female I called him a racist. HR made sure that I got my job back, with a slight raise. Now I am thinking about Quiet Quitting. Thank God for the eye-opening ideas and values of the woke Communist/Democrat party.

I like this method of thinking. You are a business and the company is the customer. Treat yourself like a business always. Example: Just because one or a few customers don't like your pizza, doesn't mean that everyone doesn't like it. Self reflection, lashing out never ends well. End gracefully. It wasn't a good fit. Keep going!

I was mistreated so badly at the last company....there was no way in hell....I was going to use that newbie, rogue manager....as a reference. For all intents and purposes....I am my Own Reference!!! She was a rough and tumble, who had never held a managerial position, and actually was canned from her last job....due to a physical altercation...or so the story goes. She was a bad news bear. Wrong side of the tracks....and it showed. I'm tired of classless people having anything to do with my finances!!! Many that are desperate to manage....have egos beyond...their usefulness. One thing I hold close now...is that every job...is a learning curve....a springboard....to the next position...should I get tossed again...or if I choose to exit.
