I liked the fact that Subaru tried to get to the school gate while Kazuma decided to climb over the wall to save time and go unnoticed. Nice subtle way to differentiate the two from each other.

lol I was dying when I saw that and instantly noticed the nice subtle detail to show the difference between them and really appreciated it. Subaru would rather run as fast as possible and try to get there in time in earnest while Kazuma tries to take a shortcut likely because he's fed up with isekai shenanigans which makes him want to take shortcuts and it's part of his funny personality, it makes sense if Subaru is less lazy and strong willed cuz of everything he's been through.

I think in the future episodes the relationship between Kazuma and Subaru will be better. Here is what I think might happen: Aqua and Mazuma meets Subaru, Aqua smell the curse, Aqua tells Subaru she will left the curse, Aqua wasn't able to left the curse, Kazuma asks what is the curse, Aqua tells him, Kazuma feels petty on Subaru, Kazuma suggest to drink together, Aqua, Kazuma and Subaru goes to drink together and have a good time. Well, this will probably not happen. But, it will be very dissapoting for a lot of fans if the series ended with a bad relationship between Kazuma and Subaru. So, there will be probably an episode where Kazuma and Subaru get in a friendly relationship.

I think that what makes Subaru's deaths appear more brutal than kasuma's is how they are depicted by the animation, with few exception (bettlejuice) kazuma has had the same deaths, some could argue even worse, he has been crush, beheaded, burnt, his kneck has been broken, he was digestes, one time was almost kidnaped and the orcs wanted to rape him to death. Now imagine all of that animated in re:zero's style and you have someone that has gone through a lot of sh*t just as subaro but with konosuba's animation we don't even think kazuma has suffered

Well in all honesty... If I can say this here... Subaru did word his situation in a way that seemed quite the spectacle in our ears and a bane to Kazuma's, if Subaru actually told Kazuma about his Return to Death and the literal piles of his own and his close one's corpses, he'll probably agree that not only is Subaru playing it at "Hard Mode", he's playing at least "Expert tier mode plus 1".

If we considered Subaru and Kazuma as husbands and family men. It would be about Kazuma complaining about being a 'Fantasy World Salaryman', with his wives regulary caused him troubles. Meanwhile Subaru commented about on how he is regulary taken care by various people (including the not mentioned ones), destined to inherit something, and how he had a wife, with maids, and another girl. So… Yeah… Subaru might have worded it in a wrong way. But then again, in Re: Zero, he constantly made mistakes…

There is a nice foil here. Subaru in general I think is the nicer person. Kazuma can be a jerk at times. Its not that he has bad intentions, but he is abrasive at times. It's also hypocritical on Kazuma's part. Subaru didn't tell Kazuma why his life was hard. Kazuma only knows he lives in a mansion with a bunch of girls, one of which he has a crush on. That is the same description of the situation Kazuma is in after S2, but he doesn't have it easy either! Kazuma is not some harem owning bastard yet he treats Subaru like one. Kazuma's abrasiveness is shown towards Aqua the most. Aqua might be a ditz, but this isn't even an environment she is supposed to thrive in. Imagine dragging some rich girl who never had to earn a living and then complain when she doesn't pull her weight in money making and demands to be showered with praises and luxuries. Worse, Kazuma had a chance to get an overpowered item. In fact in the duel between Mitsurugi and Kazuma, only Aqua and Mitsurigi had any correct points. Kazuma, having forfeited his chance for an easy life has all this jealousy, but he was the one who chose the useless goddess out of spite. It was the equivalent of a guy who decided to paly on hard mode complain about being challenged by someone who has a higher score and is on easy. Mitsurigi had the valid point that (up till the duel), he had not antagonized Kazuma and was getting all this hate even before he tried to take away Aqua. He also has the point it kind of looks like Kazuma is holding Aqua prisoner. Aqua has the third right point in that Mitsurigi ignored her own wishes and was treating her like a prize. Let's look at Subaru. Once he realizes the nature of his Return By Death (I don't know how he missed the video game save file comparison, maybe he just though he got knocked out and "Satella" healed him again"), he tries to rescue Emilia despite in that loop both of them were complete strangers up to that point. Ok, maybe that's just because he had a crush on her and not because he's naturally a nice guy? Well, he trusted Rem after she killed him because he "smelled like shit." A more calculating person, someone with Tanya or Ainz's personality, might after that loop treat Rem as an untrustworthy ally knowing she was prone to jumping to conclusions since after all Subaru was killed without doing anything related to the Witch. A third example is when he tried to evacuate the village in episode 16, something he didn't really have to do. Also by the looks of Otto's reaction, the bag of money is worth way more than not only his unsold good, but the goods of the transport. The next comparison is pride. Subaru has pride. In fact, he might have too much of it considering he couldn't keep his mouth shut when he was in the courtroom and embarrassed Emilia. In the LN, Julis's statements about Subaru before Subaru snapped and insulted the knights were longer than in the anime, but significantly they all aimed to hurt his pride, something which he couldn't swallow easily. One problem with Subaru is that it pretty much takes an immediate threat to Emilia before he would even consider thinking about swallowing his pride. Kazuma on the other hand... well let's say ordering Darkness to carry him to save time wouldn't be out of character. Our third stop is how they are revived. Subaru remembers all his deaths. Some of his loops put him through a lot of despair even before the death itself. He gets to see all the ones he care about die while seemingly helpless about it. Then he suffers a painful death to finish it off. Kazuma doesn't seem to remember the pain. Plus, he gets to meet a pretty goddess each time he gets revived. It's funny, because Ains and Tanya were basically living very similar lives back in Japan, and in their new forms they are both highly powerful mages with a group of strong followers. Yet at the same time, in their current forms, despite all their similarities, they could not possibly look more different. So seeing them talk as equals in a way they could never talk to anyone else is honestly a little bit heartwarming. So yea, best comedy crossover in a long time. Can't wait for the talent show.

I'd say if anything, Kazuma has it far easier than Suburu While Kazumas life IS kinda tough, Suburus life is FAR harder than his. Kazuma life doesn't get stuck in 1 day/ week repeatedly, when Kazuma dies, Aqua can just revive him relatively painlessly, when SUBURU dies, not only is it much heavier, but his life RESTARTS and he goes back to the past(samurai jack). Lol I love both series for different reasons😁 Re zero for the story and heavy themes and Konosuba for the comedic moments, it's light and charming😁

Oh and there Is a funny relationship between Kazuma and Subaru’s situation. They both wound up in world of opposing extremities. Kazuma entered an extremely unserious, lighthearted and comedic world while Subaru landed in the opposite extreme which was a dark, serious and gruesome world. In other words, what makes Subaru and Kazuma truly alike is that both of them were expecting a hero’s treatment and but got otherwise. Ironically, they would have been each other if they switched worlds and Kazuma entered re:zero and Subaru entered konosuba. Other funny similarities between them are: - they are both very weak in their world, having little combat development. - If you notice, both had their Isekai dream stolen by someone else. In Subaru’s case, Reinhard was the OP protagonist that he had wanted to be and for Kazuma, the knight that Aqua has given that legendary sword(forgot his name), was the Isekai protagonist that Kazuma was expecting to be. - As they were both NEETS or similar to that in their previous world, there is no doubt that if Kazuma entered Re:zero, he would have gotten the same wake up call as Subaru, and Subaru would have gotten the same disappointment as Kazuma. In other words, the only differing trait between them was the mood and atmosphere/difficulty of the world they were sent to. Seriously tho, I just love the dynamics! For Subaru who has pretty much seen the darkest/lowest moments of life that one could see and Kazuma who has only seen the brightest/lightness that life could bring. Oh I forgot one more mind-boggling relation between these two. For what each of them has been through, notice that their worlds can act as important experiences for both of them. Meaning, for Kazuma who has only seen happiness, needs to experience true horror and Subaru after what he has been through needs to experience a happy world like Kazuma’s. In other worlds their opposing world also serves as an antidote to “heal” or further develop their character into a proper, well balanced personality. Kazuma is too playful and Subaru is too scarred. They need each other’s positions to have a balanced experience and therefore mature as characters.

Yeah, it's just really funny when you think about it, because from what I've been told of Re:Zero (Never watched it), Kazuma is basically Subaru if he never went through the hardships he did. He's the version of Subaru that's still entitled, and we love him for it. Also, from what I know of from the other animes, as Konosuba is the only one I watch, Kazuma really has it the easiest out of everyone in Isekai Quartet. You really wouldn't think that'd be the case if you've only watched Konosuba and seen what he's had to put up with, but he really does have the good life. And yet, he still wants more and thinks others have it better than him. I love him for it and don't want that to change.

Depending on how one views it Tanya does too, most of her problems are self inflicted and she chose to beef with the most powerful beings in her world by her own self. She keeps using her psychopath salary mindset in the military to get promoted, but her emotional knowledge is so low she can't understand how people view her on a non military level. Just imagine Kazuma waking up in that orphanage. Would he do the same things as her. Kazuma would be the scumbag cadet who takes bribes and avoids notice by choosingthe most insignificant jobs? Subaru would still simp for some girl though, just not in the military. Kazuma is obviously better than Subaru. But honestly in a reverse situation with him it wouldn't be that bad. Subaru suffers no longer which world he's reincarnated into.

A couple of things i want to say here The difference between both of them is the way their story is narrated. Kazuma is like the funny gag type while subaru is like the psychological fucked up type. If both of the way the story narrated is switched then we would say kazuma had a hard time than subaru. So two compare the both of them is like saying the floor is made out of floor or some shit like that. So basically what im saying is that both of them had their own hardship in their own respective way.

Kazuma's died plenty of times, and just as brutal. He's been decapitated, digested, crushed, and he's even fallen from ridiculous heights. SOME of Subaru's deaths were slow, but in terms of brutality, the pain he experiences is actually showcased in the show, rather than in Konosuba, where death is comedic.

Ai Enma So? Kazuma’s party consists of a useless annoyance, a brat and a masochist who even creeps out the enemies with her sex slave fantasies. These girls as acknowledged by Kazuma aren’t very attractive in the personality department. He even stated to Aqua’s face that he wanted to trade her for the other goddess Eris. Heck there was a case where he swapped places with another guy who thought he was lucky to have a harem, after that Kazuma was pretty effective when being paired with people who aren’t only good in one area useless in everything else and the guy he swapped places with broke after having to deal with Kazuma’s party. Kazuma is by no means lucky.

What’s really interesting is that I think Tanya and Ainz could get along quite well until they really start talking deeply about their personalities, Ainz could very well see Tanya as a cold boss who never cares for their underlings, while Tanya could see Ainz as a failure of a leader who couldn’t rein in his subordinates from doing all sorts of atrocities behind his back. That said, Ainz and Tanya I imagine will likely have much to talk about in terms of managing subordinates.

I don't remember Megumin having a thing for him (though I guess I could see it happening), Wiz (I assume that's the lich you're talking about) never showed signs of liking him (as far as I know), and the succubus's just do paid work. I don't recall any of them developing a thing for him. Also, Kazuma's harem is kinda trash... personality-wise, that is. I'm waaaay too lazy to just edit it out, but I just remembered a scene where Megumin pretends to be in a relationship with Kazuma, which I guess could hint at it.
