Just because I'm not Han, that doesn't mean I don't count as Chinese. I specifically said modern day China, not Han chinese. So that means all that Tibetan, Kazakh, Mongolian, Yi script, Uyghur, Tai Nüa, Zhuang script, count as "writing systems in China". Are you denying the fact that Tibet is located in China? Many Japanese have small jaws and snaggletooths.(This is because they eat many soft foods throughout history) However It doesn't mean Koreans and Chinese have square or round chin. It's just a characteristic of the Japanese. 3. When you walk around Japan, you will notice that they are pretty short. Some of the Japanese think the short height is cute.(at least for women) and Koreans are rather tall, Except North Korea. China is a huge ass country so It is difficult to capture their features. 4. Lmao I’m Still confused cuz according to the person on the top Chinese,Japanese, and Koreans are all Chinese Because Japanese and Korean inherited from China dynastys Then why is it obvious that Japan and Korea is more developed? And what do u mean by more “ developed” ? As in tech , knowledge or something else? Like anime or kpop,kdrama ?

EXTRA INFO *Traditional clothing* Korean Hanbok: don’t know much, but the bun often seems to be tied low when I look at Korean women wear their traditional dress Japanese Kimono: tight, hard to walk in, broad waistband that’s actually not tight, the sash is tied in the back, square sleeves. Collar always has to look like a y from someone else’s perspective (if it’s the wrong way it’s associated with death) Chinese Hanfu: loose, tighter waist, sash tied in the front. People often think qipao/cheongsam is traditional but it’s more vintage, actually *Facial features* Asian people regardless of ethnicity can have unique facial features. Also, you confused almond eyes with monolid eyes. Almond is a shape anyone can have, monolid eyes are eyelids without a crease (not all Asian people have those, but it is common) *The writing* This is sort of correct, but Japanese uses three kinds of writing. Hiragana, which is shown in the video, but also Katakana and Kanji. Kanji is writing that’s borrowed from China, katana is writing used for foreign words *Traditional foods* Noodles isn’t a typical Chinese thing, as it’s a common food in most (South)East Asian countries. That’s also not traditional sushi
@김주영-r1n7e6 жыл бұрын
I know the video was made to distinguish koreans, japanese, and chinese in general, but i think it is oversimplified in the facial features part. China is too big and too diverse to fit into one certain feature. I am Korean and although we are usually from one ethnicity, our facial features differ alot, usually based on the region we live in. For the men, our faces become less square and slimmer as we go south. I don't know the details of these stuff (i am not a facial features expert) but there are clear differences. Even for the eye thing. Yes, many of us are monolid but that does not mean that there can't be big eyed koreans. In fact there are quite some of naturally big eyed koreans also. As for Japan, I believe they are even more diverse in features than Korea since its larger. (I am not as knowledgeable about the japanese facial features, sorry). But one thing for sure, is that we can't really put the video's facial distinguishing standard into practice when we meet koreans, chinese, and japanese in korea. Even i get them mixed up. All in all, it is better to understand the facial feautures part of the video as a very very simplified tendency. Because facial features are more diverse than that for fact.

It's because these 3 cultures are very East Asian, at least 90% of their culture is East Asian. The other 2 are a weird mix of culture, I don't know a lot about Vietnam but Mongolia is like 30% East Asian culture and the rest is North Asian. Also, China Korea and Japan all adopted confucianism at some point but Mongols are nomadic and confucianism is designed for agricultural people. China, Korea and Japan all used Chinese characters (Hanzi/Hanja/Kanji) but Mongols didn't really use it (except during the Liao dynasty). So we're not that similar to these 3 countries, but we do have some similarities (e.g. Soyombo symbol has a Yin-Yang from Chinese Taoism, and we celebrate Tsagaan Sar which is like Chinese New Year, and some of our architecture is similar. Plus we have a lot of history with China and Korea).

I spent years with Koreans, have Japanise friends and traveled China and have both a Chinese wife and Chinese step-daughter. All of the items listed don't define people behavior defines people, culture defines people. Most of the Koreans, Japanise and Chinese that I know came from Asia, I call them my fellow Americans. The moshi moshi writen there is wrong, because thats the writing style for the phone answering style Japanese may be also changed to diffrent styles of writing, the style you used was “Kanji” the most known style for 2010-2018 there is also a style of writing called “Hakiâto” which was being used in early 80’s. İt’s very similar to Chinese so it gets mistaken a lot Anyways great video!

There are three ways to write Japanese first is Hiragana second is Katakana and third is Kanji Hiragana is the most recent and the most used Katakana is usually used to write and pronounce English Kanji is the most oldest that is heavily influenced or stolen from Chinese writing But in all they usually use a mixture of all three

(I translated it to Google, so there may be strange things in the text. But I have no intention of discriminating against any country.) It is a story of a baseball player. A few years ago, a Japanese player was provoked by an opponent team player. At that time, he mocked the thinness and smallness of the Japanese eyes. but, the eyes of the opponent team player looked smaller than that of a Japanese player. I thought. "Why is this happening? I wonder if he may have a belief in the Japanese." Then, I reached a certain hypothesis. In many cases, "Japanese" in Hollywood movies are often played by non-Japanese such as Chinese and Korean. Even if he(she) is Japanese, it's not unusual for his(her) eyes to be made thin. I suppose it's probably the movie's influence. Koreans and Chinese are genetically close. However, the Japanese are genetically a little far from the two countries. I know when a Caucasian actually saw a Japanese high school student, he said, "The eyes of the Japanese can't be so big." Of course, not all Japanese have big eyes. However, there are both people with big eyes and people with small eyes in Japan. For example, suppose someone provoked All americans. In that case, If he point out the blackness (whiteness) of their skin,black(white) Americans would find it uncomfortable . But white Americans (black Americans) may think so. "What? Me? Did you mean to insult all Americans?" This is the real reaction of the Japanese when they are ridiculed for their small eyes. the Japanese with small eyes might feel uncomfortable. However, the Japanese with big eyes just wonder, "Which country are you mistaken for?" Finally, Japanese do not eat sushi as people in the world imagine. Originally it is a high-class food.

Good that the video has the intention to help people differentiate between Korean, Japanese, and Chinese people. I appreciate the intent. AND, it is too broad/generalized. The information is so generalized, it is almost offensive. Western people would not make a 2 min 31 sec video on the variations of European features. It is diminishing to do so with East Asian features and (unintentionally) perpetuates stereotypes of Asian generalizations and racism (in America).
