Well the U.I.R was completely destroyed due to the Hammer of Dawn strikes and E-Day and by the time of Gears Of War 3 there are only around 4 thousand U.I.R survivors being harassed by pirates they were the fleet that showed up at the end of Gears Of War 3 they agreed to become COG citizens after the locust wars.

The UIR basically got absorbed by the cog after the pendulum wars and essentially became the cog. By the time of the first gears game the cog is the only remaining human government on the planet Sera. If they were going to do a game from the UIR perspective against the locusts it would have to be a holdout cell that refused cog rule even though they definitely lost.

General Karn Kurbed stomped Garon Padok and the UIR forces in Gorasni.

@@christiana5453 Karn was given the job of wiping out the remnants of the UIR and he did so seemingly very easily.

@@nugget6820 The reason for that is that what was left of the Indies consisted of a few little hardcore states, most notably the Gorasni. The other Independent Republics were absorbed into the COG, as show in one of the flashbacks in _Jacinto's Remnant._ If the UIR had won, then it would have been a similar matchup to the actual Locust war, but with no Ephyra to run to.

I really hope it ISN'T from Padduk's P.O.V, they could make lots of new U.I.R characters, and follow their journey's, maybe they could have 2 campaigns, a U.I.R campaign, following 8 new U.I.R soldiers, and a C.O.G campaign, following dom and his squad and a second brand new C.O.G commando squad, and maybe the game ends with a 6 week time skip to E-Day where you play as a squad of unknown soldiers from the U.I.R or the C.O.G and you have to fight an infinite ammount of locust until you die

That’s definitely interesting. I wish we knew more about the Pendulum Wars. They definitely made an insane amount of armor variations so the different enemy ranks would be more distinct and not just look like an indistinguishable mass of guys. Other people in the comments have said they want to see a Gear of War game set during that war and I agree. Although, you’d want them to bring back a bunch of the original devs and some hardcore fans to keep it faithful to the original and remains grounded. I really like the different armor variations. They definitely look really cool. Something I wish they would have added in the new Gears games would be to have experimental energy/plasma weapons that function like the Covenant weapons from Halo. What I mean by that is their battery is higher than the ammo count for normal weapons, but they overheat and you need to swap them out when they run out of energy. I think if they were to make these weapons look like the different energy weapons in Fallout where they have a more industrial look then they’d fit pretty well into the Gears of War art style. For different variations they could have lasers, something that sprays out plasma, and a Tesla coil that fires lightning that chains enemies. Although, you’d also want there to be the occasional recharge station that gives you more juice until it runs out. That would be really cool. I know this is kind of off topic, but I think it’s interesting how Gears of War 4 borrowed a lot of ideas from Epic Game’s original plan for the 4th game, but it diverged considerably. Kind of like what Disney did with the Force Awakens (and we all know how that train wreck ended). Do you think you’d ever make a video going over the concept art and talking about what the original plans most likely were based on what little information there is? That would be interesting. Good video. I found this channel a few months ago and I’m glad I stuck around.

Firstly, I wouldn’t mind a Pendulum Wars game but I don’t think it would be a huge success, the enemy variety isn’t really there, I’d prefer a Pendulum Wars DLC. Also that’s an interesting way of thinking about the energy/plasma weapons although I’m not sure if they’d go that route with Gears. & yeah the coalition did pick up some ideas that epic games left over but kind of repackaged it. One example was the unused concept of the Armored Tickers, these would be a golden ball and would roll towards you (like a tiny Armored kantus). TC repackaged that as the Trackers as part of the DeeBee faction. I’d have to see what info I can find if I do make a video on it. Yeah, you’re probably right about you’re probably right about there not being enough enemy variety to make a fleshed out campaign, and a decent sized dlc working best. It would definitely be awesome to see things play out though. There’s plenty of things from the Halo universe where people think a full sized game would be great, but the combat encounters don’t have nearly enough enemy variety to justify it. Plus, most people don’t know anything about the expanded universe (for both Gears of War and Halo) so they’d just be confused about what’s going on. With the plasma/energy weapons they sound really cool in my head, but would probably clash too much with the series’s identity. The way you’d want to handle them would be for the guns to be pretty rare, and they’d gradually become more common as the trilogy goes on to show technology progressing. In a way Halo has a similar problem where it makes sense for them to add in new technology to the newer games to show progress. But, it takes away from the overall grittiness of the setting and makes it feel more generic. Yeah, it’s really interesting how they’ve repurposed a bunch of unused ideas. I remember seeing concept art of soldiers in militarized power loaders, but they scrapped that and just replaced then with robots you only see for part of the game (goes back to the thing I said about technology progressing, but taking away from the tone of the setting). Hopefully the 6th game will be able to fix the various problems that came with the old and new games. Again, good luck with your new videos.

@@shreksnow1918 you know I kinda like your idea, like they have the hammer of dawn which they've developed laser technology but the problem is that weapons needs so much energy the weapon can't be carried, but maybe like a smaller, chunkier version kinda like the spartan laser except more industrialized and fires a continual laser that instead of just big blast that blows up everything it's more like a long range flame thrower that incerates whatever in its path, or like that big taser gun you see in horde mode, they could make something like that where it stuns enemies and maybe forces them to be wounded but doesn't actually kill the enemy, honestly that Tesla coil idea isn't that one, there's a lot they do but the question will they, since gears of war is pretty grounded (no pun intended) but they've pretty advance tech so who knows, hopefully if they do make those types of weapons, they make them in a way that actually feels gears of war and not just ripping off halo Also yeah I was thinking the same thing like a pendulum war dlc or maybe even a mode where you can play as the uir

@argo 2970 Building on what you said about them needing a massive amount of energy, I think if they made it like those chain guns in Gears 3 where one player holds the actual weapon and the other player/ai holds the ammo box that could be used as a base. Just swap the ammo box with a battery pack and make the guns super rare. Or make it so when you pick it up the weapon on its own and when you find a recharge station you’d just plug it in and use that for ammo/battery. That way they’d stand out from the Halo guns. That being said I agree that it probably wouldn’t fit the setting. It’s a cool idea, but could detract from the overall feel of the game. I’m trying to twist myself into knots to preserve the idea, but it probably wouldn’t be worth it. I like your idea for how it would function. Let’s hope that at some point they clean house at the Coalition and replace them with people who actually know what they’re doing. Then we’d actually get a bunch of good games/dlcs set in the universe. The sequels have some good ideas, but the execution is atrocious and they also have their fair share of bad ideas. Hopefully the series can improve.

What if the union of independent republics finished the hammer of dawn first? Or what if both the Cog and Uir faction both had the hammer of dawn, would both Alliences destroy each other with the Hammer of Dawn? Maybe the Pendulum war dose not end and kept going all the way to E Day as both uir and Cog would not want to wipe out everything with the er of dawn, maybe resulting In the pendulum wars lasting another six weeks till E Day

A follow up commet on my What if nothing the uir and Cog had the hammer of dawn? Or the uir got it first. Both uir and cog governments would probably use the hammer of dawn to first stike a big military base or military on the move target or a city. And find how the hammer of dawn worls to well due to fire power and blast range So both Alliences will decide to keep using the hammer of dawn orbital weapon till their enemy surrenders or wiped out. And so the uir and cog may 1 cripple each other right in time for E day to happen weeks later. Or 2 both uir and cog governments unwilling to let themselves and sera surface be destoryed, both uir and cog decide to keep the war going and fight with regular conventional weapons, troops, tanks aircraft, etc and keep fighting the pendulum war till E day happens eith some big final battle happening just prior to E Day that would decide who win the pendulum war. or both sides use the hammer of dawn to to win the war but like a nuclear weapons both the uir and cog nearly wipe each other out just in time for E day to happen. With the lesson of this alternative being that bothcog and uir governments were to prideful to end the war that by E day they nearly doomed humanity of Sera.

I mean in the world of gears of war, there no good guys during the pendulum wars. The COG did their fair share of fuck ups and the UIR pretty much did the same. Though during E-day they begrudgingly helped the COG. Point is nobody was good, we're just viewing from the perspective of the COG during the locust war
