The only thing I never liked about old dramas was their preoccupation with hordes of rates and man-eating ants. These themes pop up often across programs. Even in movies of this time. Rats always get a bad rap. :

You can thank producer William N. Robson and the popularity of "Three Skeleton Key" and of course, "Leinengen and the Ants." Personally, I've never had a any reason to dislike or fear rats . . On the other hand, I've never actually seen one in a home. Ants? Well, I must admit that I have stepped on a few in my life . . .
