Perhaps one of the most interesting books written on this subject is, "the Immortality key" by Brian muraresku. It goes deep into the history of the Dionysian Mysteries, and uses evidence from from both academia (he even digs through the Vatican library) and the science of archaeochemistry to prove a psychedelic connection. He even makes a strong and convincing case of connecting Jesus to Dionysus, both having "God" for a father and both having a mortal mother, both being born from Immaculate conception. Both Turning water into wine, both of them being the wine and whomever drinking the wine becoming them. Both being killed and resurrected as gods, to only mention a few comparisons.

It's great to see Dionysian Mysteries discussed in a KZbin podcast. Here are a few thoughts: Plato was said to have considered himself to be Dionysus, just as Socrates considered himself Silenus, and Aristotle -- Apollo. Dionysus was linked to the Nous, the Intellectual Sun or higher mind. Remember that Orphic mysteries were also said to be influenced by Jainism. Otherwise, the ancients considered Dionysus to be synonymous with Shiva, as evidenced by Alexander the Great's soldiers visiting a Shivaite temple near modern Peshawar, Pakistan. Also, as to the details of the mystery rites, I recommend one research the Crata Repoa, which is a reconstruction of the Greek and Egyptian rites based upon classical hints by initiates. Both Peter Dawkins of the Francis Bacon Research Trust and Manly Palmer Hall published brief descriptions of those rites, which to this day are the only publications of the rite in the English language. Originally these rites of the Crata Repoa appeared in Renaissance Italy and later appeared within the context of French Freemasonry. Anyways, there is much to remember ... but the process has begun. Well done.

Epithet means "an adjective or phrase expressing a quality or attribute regarded as characteristic of the person or thing mentioned." For a deity to have epithets means that they have words or names that are attributed to them to describe them, such as Dionysus Dimetor, Twice- Born. Sometimes these are used to describe distinct enough aspects of a deity that they are treated as distinct entities, such as Aphrodite Ourania and Aphrodite Pandemos.

Gnostic Informant and a guy by the name of Dr Ammun know all about the Orphic correlation to Jesus. He may have not been the embodiment of Dionysus, yet is the savior, is associated with wine, and did upon death, travel to the underworld before his "rebirth". Don't be too hasty in skipping over this subject, there's something there.

Hello Georgina Rose, I have a bit out of topic question, and your logo in the lower right part of the screen made me think of it. Do you have good online ressources to recommend me about the drawing of the unicursal hexagram? I have developped an interest in planet magick, and I am looking for reliable informations about it, especially concerning the invoking and banishing directions. From what I understand, each corner of the hexagram correspond to a planet in relation with the corresponding sephiroth on the sephirotic tree, for example, top right corner, Hessed, Jupiter, top left corner, Gueburah, Mars, bottom left, Hod, Mercury, and so on... One direction, on those corners, is about banishing, the other about invoking. Is it right?...

I noticed a wasted opportunity to bring up the solar nature of Dionysus when speaking about his relation to astrology and the planets. In truth, Dionysus is a god in the solar series, and there are Orphic fragments which testify his identity with the Sun. Zeus is Helios. Dionysus is the setting chthonic sun. Apollo is the unchanging nature of the sun. Dionysus is the ever-changing. Rest and motion. " Hear oh, Sun, spinning ‘round in a circle of distant revolving rays, Ever turning ‘round the orbit in heavenly whirls. Oh shining Zeus-Diónysos, father of the sea, father of the earth, Oh Sun, father of all, all radiant, and glittering like gold!’ ” - Opheus via Macrobius, Saturnalia, Book I

I used to like this and really be excited about the occult but I feel that her, “too good for everyone” attitude is a turn off.

I heard that she's a member of an elite hunting club that hunts poor immigrants in the redwood forests of California. Then they celebrate with drinking at the camp of the Bohemian Grove.

Did you ever consider that such attention seeking behavior is paired with excellence in areas of proficiency when channeled correctly? She gives off vibes of a high nosed society, but if you were familiar with such groups you would see that there are pillars of competence holding the rest up. This is the daughter of a pillar who was raised to high expectations if you know what to look for.
