I remember seeing a post somewhere, saying something like this: the most ideal state of fame is like those other members of Maroon 5 - you got paid a lot, got to perform at the Superbowl grand opening ceremony and people still won't recognize you buying groceries at Target.

@@bighands69 They may be a media creation but to dismiss them as having no talent is not fair or accurate. Watch the live performance of the Beatles 50th anniversary performance on the Ed Sullivan appearance. They nailed it. For contrast watch Katy Perry's dismal performance on the same show. She is void of talent.

I've always thought my goal is not to become some big famous KZbinr it's simply to be able to support myself while making KZbin content. I feel like when KZbinrs reach a certain size they start to become jaded and their content becomes less sincere, I'd rather stay at a size I could be comfortably living on, without getting to that jaded point. I also feel like when your channel gets to be above a certain size your community starts to become less personal, I like knowing my regulars, which becomes harder the more there are.

Do you know what's better than being rich and famous? Being rich and NOT FAMOUS
@adarian
@adarian 4 жыл бұрын
You are totally correct. I once met the richest person in my state at a charity event. Neither I nor the people I was with knew who he was till we were told by the organizer and we looked him up on google. He had no bodyguards around him. He had no one trying to continuously snap photo's of him. Was basically just a person there giving a lot of money to a charity and not doing so for a photo opp or for instagram followers. He is worth many times what Kylie Jenner or Kim Kardashian is worth yet he does not have to worry about going out for dinner and being noticed and harassed every step he takes outside his house. He could walk into pretty much any place around and not be recognized by anyone who has not had some form of contact with him for some business or charity reason. That sounds a thousand times better than being famous and having to worry about how you look every time you leave the house because a bad photo of you could look bad and cost you followers etc. You still get the best things in life money can buy..... without people bothering you about it.

That whole family has OJ Simpson to thank for their fame. It's true. If OJ hadn't committed those 2 murders on June 12,1994, then no one would have heard of the name Kardashian. Their father was one of the Lawyers OJ had for his defense even though he didn't do much during the trial itself. Then that sex tape comes out almost exactly 10 years to the day of the murders and bam instant fame.

@@generaza7609 I think they pretend to regret it so people will talk about. It's really hard to remain famous for example Charli and Dixie recently made a series on Hulu . The series was about them crying about being famous which had them trending on Instagram and Twitter. Few days after that Dixie went to the met gala . Fame is something that leaves , you can't be famous forever. If the 1 percent really hated Fame they could move away from la and delete social media apps
@denishagrindley6951
@denishagrindley6951 3 жыл бұрын
@@generaza7609 In my opinion celebrity culture is only getting bigger because it is easier to get famous. Fame is game that only allows a small number of persons to be famous. Backpack kid was famous during musically but not anymore. Social media allows more persons to get there 15 minutes of Fame but that isn't going to stop celebrity culture. Look at Demi Lovato for example she recently made alot of drama to remain famous. Social media introduced a new type of Fame where it is easy to get famous but hard to stay relevant

Never did that but when american idol came around i auditioned twice but never got past the first round. I did get on local tv and radio so that was my 15 minutes. I did some community theatre and sang with a church band for about a year before giving up. I can still carry a tune but after years of smoking and lack of practice im not as good i used to be. I had fun though. Got to travel a little and meet some interesting people. Im honestly glad i didnt get famous. I hate what the music industry has become and would never want to be part of it .

I have grown to absolutely consume all your content. Thank you for helping me save on my cable bill 😂. As a psychotherapist I wanted to point out one example you gave as less related to reverse psychology than to Relational Frame Theory (RFT). “Don’t think about bears.” Isn’t irresistible because freedom circumvention, but rather the brains use of language to derive meaning. To follow the instruction one must understand what a white bear is. Our thoughts must derive a white bear in the mind in order to “avoid” it. Therefore, it’s impossible not by will but by mind processes we use to make since of the world and instructions given. Relational Frame Theory only applies to instant thoughts, while reverse psychology applies to action. All the other examples are spot on. Thank you for what you do. Your Green Energy video is my favorite!

Arran’s uniquely bizarre obsession with adding fart sounds anywhere he can get them in (like any time any foods are mentioned, apparently) suggests that rather than finding flatulence and its attendant sensations to be the disgusting sort of thing that other KZbinrs avoid unnecessarily subjecting their viewership to in case they might be eating and the memories it resurrects might put them off their pints, Arran has conversely at least from outward appearances had a very positive experience with it, which in combination with his otherwise dapper dandy self brings to mind James Joyce who despite his intellectual refinement had a notorious self-admitted “addiction” to huffing women’s farts💨😵‍💫

Am I the only one here who would absolutely adore being world famous? I remember when I was young my dad tried to tell me that being famous was awful because everywhere you go, people recognize you, swarm you, harass you, and try to take pictures of you. People are constantly trying to get onto your property, go through your garbage, and even something as simple as going to the store turns into an event as mobs of people recognize and surround you. He told me this as if it were a bad thing, but all I could think was "how can I make that my reality?" I honestly, truly believe that I would NEVER get tired of being recognized, followed and hounded everywhere I went. Would it get annoying sometimes? Sure. But knowing that you're one of the very, very, very, very few people lucky enough to be adored by so many people, to have done something that touched the lives of so many would make it well worth the "cost" of being adored. But that's me.

He pronounces th as f. It's a very common thing. Annoyingly, and despite the constant attempts to get her to speak clearly, one of my (now adult) kids does the same. She was also the only one of the 4 who didn't need braces to straighten her teeth, so it's not like she has a physical "disability". She's also very intelligent (got a very good BSc degree in mixed science and humanities subjects - the science being medicine. She's considering whether to go to med school or just back to uni to get a PhD in medical research like her biochemist brother [edit: not meant as a brag, just trying to illustrate her very determined mindset. She also is often determined to do what her big bro does lol]), has had a wide vocabulary since she was a toddler and works hard, so it's got nothing to do with lack of intellect or laziness. Being an English grad, I would get v annoyed when she said f instead of th, but I eventually had to accept that she just can't say it. But like her, a much larger proportion of English speakers (I don't know if it spreads into other languages) than most people recognise, have a greater or lesser ability to say it: ie some can say th properly when it appears in certain parts of a word whereas others can't pronounce it at all. I'd say he has the greater ability to pronounce it, but like most others, it's at the start of the word that he's more likely to not quite get it right. Naming his channel as he did turned out to be a very inspired move IMHO.

@Abserd O famous enough to make it on the news and have people from LA come 2000 miles and interview me and for local people to honk at me even though I didn't know them from Adam, as well as get visitors and phone calls at all hours of the day and night (I seriously underestimated people's general lack of consideration at the time). A few weeks of that was enough before I decided to keep to myself, but believe whatever you want, it's not like I'm being tried for murder and you are on my jury.

Someoe needs to make a wikipedia page about Thoughty2 to add him to the list of famous people

Honestly I just want fame so I can change and influence people. Doesn't need to be everlasting either, I just need the spotlight, a chance to speak, for a small time in the grand scheme of things. And perhaps I can permanently change the viewpoints of the people. I don't need to be remembered; I just want my ideals to be.
