I think that's how it is. I also just finished watching him/her. It's the separate perspectives at the same time so I think that'll be interesting to see how they've done that in Them. It makes it easier to really see the two sides when it's one movie so I'm still going to watch it.

The song 'Eleanor Rigby' is about a lonely woman who dies alone. It seems the writers used this as inspiration when creating their interpretation of the character in this movie. Based off the trailer you can see she's someone who 'runs away' when the going gets tough instead of dealing with the issues directly. Like the lady said in the trailer, "you run away and you'll create a history of running away" this implies that if she doesn't change her ways she's headed on a road towards meeting 'Eleanor Rigby's' fate (in the song) in which she ultimately ends up lonely and alone. That's my interpretation anyway.

Just watched "The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby" (Circa 2020). THE STUPIDEST movie ever. Woman and husband lose their child (Not at clear how). Woman tries to commit suicide and completely, without word, disappears from her husband's life. Goes back to her parents. Total disregard for anyone except her self. Oh, but she had grief? Yes. And, so did he. And, so did her parents. And, his parents. Everyone (especially her husband) is desperate to connect to her. So, rather than build bonds and share grief -- she isolates. At some point, she goes back to "make amends" (what an inadequate idea) with her husband, sleeps with him for one night, tells him she lives him and disappears in the morning. Then, she goes to study in Paris. What an empty and lost soul. (and, what a stupid movie disguised as sophisticated art, I suppose).
