We immigrated to the US in early 70s. After a couple of years my father saved enough to open his own restaurant in Atlantic City NJ. A Thai restaurant. Back then nobody even heard of Thailand. Unfortunately it had to close. Congratulations to these folks on such a prestigious award.

Vermont needs that. So americans know that thai food is some of the best in the world. Not american food not british and not european. Thai food and other asian foods are on a whole other level.

I am Thai and I really this segment really needs to be corrected. It appears that she is from the "Isan" area, which is located and more closely related to the Lao culture.

She’s a Thai woman woman appropriating Lao culture or vise versa? Either way, her restaurant should be shut down and awards revoked for cultural appropriation.

@Trevor Kraus more appropriately she is Thai Isan, meaning a person from the Northeast region as noted in the video. Why r u trying to refute me when you are not Thai? .

@@tekkieman It’s similar to Bavaria region in Germany which is more culturally related to Austria. Isan region is located inside Thailand but culturally more related to Laos. Both Thai and Laos are in the same ethnic group same as Germany and Austria.
