I'm in a similar boat. Because I am a ball of anxiety attacks I don't enjoy the jumpscare fest that horror gaming is nowadays. But I was able to get through this game because it's more of a thriller, building up tension rather than just popping out and going "boo!". It's always cheap as shit, so I'd HIGHLY reccomend picking it up if you were interested ✌️💜

Great video and an amazing continuation to the series. I felt it was an improvement from the first one with a more cohesive narrative and smoother transitions. Also, not having played the game, it did a pretty good job terrifying me with its story and leaving me questioning about the parts of its lore yet to be uncovered. Excited to see where we go next! 😊❤

Darkwood is as close to perfect as one can get for an isometric game. Visual story-telling, story telling through objects and locations rather than exposition dumps, constant mixes of science fiction and psychological horror all combined in a tight rewarding combat package. I've replayed this game about five times and played it back in Alpha when only half of chapter 1 was available. I'm very happy to see many more videos exploring this absolute gem of a video game. Its truly genre defying, I find it difficult to compare it to any other title because it really strikes its own unique place in the realm of horror games. The closest thing to compare it to would be Russian literature.

You do not have to complete the dreams nor do you need to spare the tree to find the true ending, I got it despite failing some of the dreams and burning the tree as I explored the basement of the apartment building and clicked on some of the other apartments and saw hints that something wasn't right.

Darkwood is easily one of the few games I genuinely can say is a 10/10. Like god, I'm no stranger to horror games, I've played some of the lesser silent hill games, outlast and whistle blower, RE4-8, as many fnaf games I could get my hands on. And plenty more cheap or free horror games. And only, and I mean only Darkwood has managed to prevent me from getting comfortable. Because that's what makes EVERY horror game no longer scary, you get familiar. And don't get wrong you do get familiar in Darkwood but, no matter how hard I tried each damn nightfall always genuinely filled with me dread, it may have lost some of its scare and terror. But I never stopped feeling somewhat afraid, constantly dreadful because no matter how strong I got, one dumb mistake would end me in actual moments

I have some points in chapter 'Dry Medow'. First night always is calm night, and always is for wolf man. He is not a character that will ever appear on mornings, only Trader. Trader is one that will have increase raputation for surviving night and have all things what you need to survive. Second, that banshee event in Dry Medow, is pretty rare. Very even to say so. I will add more things as i will watch, so i will give edits on things that will be a correction. Edit 1: A first dream. Is straight forward. Follow a sparkles on ground. In correct way should be bed on end of it and lead to option to sleep. The way is done is for going too far from road of Shiny Stones (with that worth 130 reputation points.) And ending dream right shound reward you one after waking up.

Alright, you've twisted my leg. I'll re-download and play through it again. I swear, Darkwood has a Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines effect where whenever I see a video on it, I'll play through it again 😂😂 Also, 7:15 the oven, as well as any other person or object that changes your screen has a hidden utility, forced auto saves. You can use the oven 10 minutes before night-time or a dangerous run in order to save your game in case you die. You can also use this in order to reset vendors as well. Just talk to them, quit, and reload and they will have all of their money and supplies restocked!

Working on a similar concept for a table top RPG to this called The Lost Places. Basically a Survival Horror Dungeon Crawler and Escape Room Found Footage Spooker. Where you play as an L.P. E.- Lost Places Explorer. Wheres you must capture 10 Key Scenes of the evidence of A.H.H. Anomlous Hazards and Hostiles. That have been rumoured to dwell there. Get you 10 Keys and Then find the Exit before Time Out. There is no turning back to the way you came in. If you do not escape And you are declared Absentia in that Lost Place adding to it's impentrable legend. Will your footage which you streamed live survive you ? Being your last will and testament ? Or will you live to Explore another Lost Place and gain credit in your Clout Account ? Building your own legend. With each exploration you risk your safey and sanity.
