I always found it kind of weird that the Bomar just let Jabba set up shop in their monastery. I mean, I know he would probably kill them if they didn't, but still. Imagine you are a monk that spends his entire life trying to reach enlightenment, all while loud music blasts from the basement, the occasional thug stumbles into your room, and the knowledge that your monastery is a cesspool of sin. Makes me wonder if some gave up and joined Jabba's posse to have some fun.

They're enlightenment and meditation skills must be epic. Likewise, I'm surprised a coup wasn't executed, but I guess they were afraid of what would happen to them if it failed. Jabba had a lot of armed forces and criminals, and Jabba's presence also warded off other hostile criminals seeking to cause trouble.

Thank you, I always wondered what that two stormtroopers were talking about on the death star, also if that was a BT-16 at Jabba's place wandering in the background when the two droids walk in, it's fun getting to know the origin of the things that walk here and there randomly in some scenes. Nicely done.

I remember this happening to Tash in Galaxy of Fear. A serial killer used her body for revenge, while she got to learn to use her fledgling Force powers to compensate for the loss of her body just enough to keep from totally losing her shit. Turned out Jabba had convinced the monks to debrain dangerous criminals and keep them alive so he could have them put into new bodies and have their talents available. Uncle Hoole was PISSED when he learned what happened to his niece.

I don't think anyone including the monks were ready to BD brained. I mean it's one thing to achieve enlightenment but it's another thing when you have to sit around all day and you can't even twiddle your thumbs. The only thought going through my head if I was sitting on a shelf as a brain would be "I'd give anything to be kicked in the balls right now." A little bit graphic but they say you miss the little things. I'd rather take on a star destroyer in an a-wing then meet a b'omarr Monk. You know Disney would never create anything so awesome and for the adults. I love Legends and I love these videos. Keep it up and maybe do more adult style stories that are creepy or just graphic. 😊
@benjaminstevens37886 жыл бұрын
Toggle Fire You raise an interesting point, and this is exactly what the Bo'marr (sp?) and the real-life monks (who do not put their brains in jars, but do similar things that seem crazy or creepy) are renowned for. They CAN separate themselves from the physical inclinations and needs of the world, at least to a near-physiological level, and it is the belief of some groups that with extensive enlightenment and perfect meditation one can transcend the physical world and live past the lifespan of the body, shunning food, drink and even air... though it is possible that at that point they are simply dying. One might argue that they are right to do so, as any value that can be sought or derived from the physical plane pales in comparison to the value of meditation within the ethereal. Indeed, one might believe that everything that we know and love is reducible to the absurd acts of chemicals, and there is therefore no intrinsic value in this material universe.
@Skycapten936 жыл бұрын
It's something that almost intrigues me. I've always wondered if I were to lose my vision, how would I view the world, or if I were to lose my hearing how would I adapt? If I were to transend the physical body and reality as I know it... This is why people try psychedelics. Spiritual enlightenment. But I think it's best left in a single experience or maybe just a few. "Death is a part of life"

I doubt it, iv acually experienced 100% brain body dissociation through ketamine. The thing is,you dont realize how badly your thoughts are weighed down by your body, everything you think,everything! Has to do with food,or sex,or getting shelter. Every thought is rooted in the past preceptions of your human body. I never felt more pure in thought then when i did ketamine because you dont even know ur human or that you have eyes or can smell,you simply become a pure unhindered thought cloud,it is these moments i have reached my more life changing conclusions. I imagine if,sensory and memory was handled properly and you wernt just experiencing darkness always it would be like that,the trails they go through are probably dissociation techniques

The kind of mind that endures a lifetime of preparation to be a brain in a jar is exactly the kind of mind that can withstand being placed in a jar. I sympathize. If/when we become capable of copying our minds to hardware, I plan to do so. The electronic me can focus on thoughts, and the meaty me can more freely enjoy the flesh.

The collected book of short stories "Tales from Jabba's Palace" includes Bib Fortuna's fate after Jabba's demise on the sail barge, Fortuna is brain-spider-jarred, but seems to remember the long password to a sort of credit safe, similar to an ATM, that holds Jabba's account. Jabba's riches could easily remedy Fortuna's perdicament. However, the claw manipulator on Fortuna's spider droid body lacks the agility to punch the code, especially before he can enter it correctly, it times out, or locks him out after too many failed attempts in one day. Not to mention him dropping the implement he is clutching in his claw. I believe the story is titled "Of The Day's Annoyances".

I have a suggestion for a video, kind of crazy though. You should take all of the ships in star wars, from all factions and eras, and canon and legends, and see if it would beat everything in halo. Again, just a suggestion, and might be crazy.
@redenginner6 жыл бұрын
In depends on the era of halo. In the current era of the setting humanity is only barely stronger than the divided covenant. -spoilers- Cortana controlling pretty much all the forerunner remnants and most of the UNSC battlefleet would put up a good fight but its no real match for what even the galactic empire has. The only faction that would be a legit challenger to heavyweights such as star wars and the imperium of man is the pre halo ring forerunners. So if its forerunners star wars loses bad and gets turned into chimps, and if its anything else starwars utterly destroys once hyperlanes are mapped out.
@neeks37136 жыл бұрын
Demo_the _man Thanks, I can see your point there. See, I do not know much about halo, but I am still learning, thanks to these types of channels. What I forgot to put in the first comment was that it would include everything in all of their eras, both star wars and halo, and if all of their factions joined together, for some reason. Boiling it down, the idea was all of the forces from the CIS, Republic, Empire, Rebellion, First Order, and the Resistance/New Republic going up against everyting in halo from all of their factions and eras. I remember seeing some stuff about halo some time ago, and I wondered if it would win against star wars. Again, I do not know much about halo, and this channel introduced me to the expanded universe stuff, which is sadly non-canon thanks to disney. I hope I do not offend anyone due to my lack of knowledge about halo.
