Isn't strange that the trader looks identical to all the caged farmers, and he is willing to trade clothing in exchange for the farmers? The way all this works seems a little bit suspicious...

Your not selling them, the farmer is the only one with the key to unlock the cages so he wants to save them which is why he is trading for them. Edit: This is why he has the key. He is one of the farmers who managed to escape the farm bots. He found one of his friends in a cage and rolled him to safety. He then developed a key to save the rest of them. They kept on saving each other until the farm bots found out so they hid inside. There are a couple of them and they are all living inside the huge house making clothes and farming stuff like cotton for the clothes. The farmer that everyone sees is the OG one that made a key.

I've had this fan theory for a while now that the trader is the bad guy of Scrap mechanic. When you bring him caged farmers you're actually bringing him a packaged up "crop" of what used to be his competition. That aside; If you're going to do a season 2 of Scrap mechanic, then maybe set yourself a challenge that persists throughout. Something like no gasoline, or using no more than 50 spuds an episode or something that makes things a little more difficult in the day to day aspect of gameplay. Food for thought.

the answer is simple: in the garment boxes are blueprints for clothing which the dressbot can produce. So in order to create these blueprints somebody has to come up with ideas how the clothing should look like. That is where the farmers come into play. As soon as you "trade" a farmer for a garment box they think about a design. Of cause they need something to eat, so you have to spend brocoli too. As you mentioned they are clones and the thing with these clones is, they come up with a good idea only once in their live. so that is why you have to look for more farmers, if you want to have garment boxes.

if u ever need to make a new base, do a tower thing - like 20 levels high or something - potential with a round defence system - on pistons - do it can swirl around outside the tower walls , with the no collision thingy - like saw blades on a spinner , spuds on a spinner and so on

A view things and theory i got: - I think the reason why you have to trade a farmer for garment box is because the trader use the farmer's clothes and give it to you. - I just realized that the farmer is able to escape from the cage, because when scrapman getting closer to the farmer, you can see that there's a hole in front of the farmer that fits the farmer to escape.

the bots captured the farmers who were left behind when the spaceships took off some spaceships failed and crashed hence their being a second one, and you sell them to the trader so he can free them and use them, that's why they all look the same, the trader is different farmers each time, that's why he needs so much fruit and veg from you to feed all of them and himself.
