In The Division 2: Warlords of New York's campaign we're tracking down Aaron Keener in an attempt to stop him once and for all. However, the plot twist at the end of the campaign had many people left with the following questions. I disagree, the Divisions' mission is predicated upon salvaging and restoring federal government; not necessarily liberty as we think of it. Perhaps some of the rogue agents had a better understanding than the "agent" character of this and sought autonomy away from Division as well as other factions; preying upon those groups for resources while doing so with the perspective of them being no different than armed, criminal, pre-virus enterprises.

While originally we were supposed to save the government, now there's nothing left to save, so all we really have left is to build a new society with the same ideals as the old ones. Meanwhile, Black Tusk are apparently working for some forces that want to install "a new dynasty", implying a much more rigid and ordered society, which is pretty much what the Templars want.

When I went back to City Hall to take the Control point over . Autonomy is both The Division's greatest strength and weakness. We as humans have the power to attack, defend, and choose. But whomever created Directive 51 underestimated just how easy people can turn when all hope is lost. And worse yet, what mind is willing to steal that same hope just for the hell of it. We often would like to believe that there are more good guys out there than bad. But if you inflict enough pain and despair upon someone, they will do anything to be rid of it. The real terror is realized when we see how little it takes for angels to become demons.

@@NB-ye8mq They're not red because they no longer belong to a Rogue agent. The watches are useless without a Isac transmitter. Once connected they can transfer data and become useless again. It's never said that you bring them back. You don't pocket them either if I recall correctly they remain on the ground (which never made sense why they were just on the ground without any corpses around)

Loved the video! It was super hard to avoid any spoilers in work but I did, somehow. I finally managed to sit down and play through it all this weekend. Amazing lore. You earned my sub, keep it up. I'd like to learn more of the Division's lore altogether. I was definitely surprised when I saw Faye becoming rogue, but after what she's went through from Div 1 and 2 with Faye losing everything, I can see why she's desperate to find a new way to conform to peace. She's lost everything already, and just that I can see why she finds it necessary and easy to switch to a greener pasture with the Black Tusk. It's definitely a very dark moment, but I do hope we get to learn more about Faye's decision in future Division expansions/games.

Great video! I was getting hints of the story through playing, but it makes a lot more sense what happened hearing it in order. Would be really cool if they made it to where when you find a audio device in the world/environment, it's always the next one in sequential order. That way you're not getting them all over the place and have to listen to them over again in order to understand the story.

Yeah, I think that part just probably comes down to bad writing. She, at the very least, would feel some sort of sight of remorse at feeling the need to kill off the Division. It was a huge part of her life.

@@RpTheHotrod There's only too much one can take. Faye lost her sister, most of her comrades and the city she defends no longer trusts especially Paul who is absolutely not helping with his doubts. You know who would I be sorry for at least? It would be Benitez. He actually trusted Lau, made fair compromises with Paul and put the Agent in a fair uplifting pedestal. But with the doubts and betrayals, it's surprising he hasn't disavowed the JTF too.

If I was a division agent I would have stayed with the division blacktusk can say the provide security but we have stopped them in there tracks time and time again and we can deal with other rouge agents. The ends don’t justify the means the agents that have turned stop believing in the Philosophy of the division and look for their own survival there’s nothing wrong with that until you have to kill innocent people and JTF force that are trying to protect what remains I stand with the Division. But that’s easy. If I was placed in a Role of an Agent only to see your fellow agents killed and your command structure holding on by a thread it’ll be demoralizing. Especially for the First Wave that got abandoned by JTF and left to die is kinda just into why agents went rogue. I’d even go rogue knowing that. I would’ve just abandon the mission and search of whatever is left of my home or family. Not everything can be black or white. Who can you trust? All these factions are bad as each other, which is probably the means of why some go at it solo. The Division are still going at it with bringing the country to what it was previously but they’re barely hanging in there. Nothing has changed..

I still choose Division. I think I didn't loyal to Division but to people and Idea of what Division is build for. Rogue is just full with hate and despair from be powerless fight all enemy with limit resource. So, They gone rogue. I may work solo without take any order from higher up. Eliminate enemy, Help settlement and protect people but I don't join the side that kill innocent people to get what they want. BlackTusk is just mercenary of tyrant people. If you not obey them then They'll kill you to get what they want. So, Not difference then other enemy. Some how I get the feel that Faye may join Blacktusk to get info of people who is behind blacktusk.

Was totally foreshadowed. In Rhodes' recordings said he had "Never trusted Lau". Combine his messages with Lau's sister's death and her general attitude, it was too be expected. A member of our clan finished the campaign a day before I did and didn't want to spoil it but I did call it before we went into the final mission as I had collected all of the recordings before going in.

I was so shocked by this turn of events, but it made sense. The traitors in this game's storyline are always those who've been wronged or suffered in some major way. I remember during the last fight with Keener I was even saying "Why isn't she here raiding this place with me???" Made no sense since she was able bodied and owed Keener serious payback. Then the big reveal comes and I'm like "O_O!!!!"

My theory is that the hunter is a collective of first wave agent who left behind in the dark zone. They become like a cult with one goal, kill every division agent they find. The different between the hunter and the rogue agent is that rogue agent is an agent who disavow the division protocol and hunter is an agent who presume dead. They use the balistic mask to hide their face so ISAC can recognize their face.

A part of me is still hoping that, at some point in the story, there's gonna be two paths to take. Stay loyal, or go rogue. Depending on your choice, it'll completely change the story. New characters to talk to, new locations to visit etc. I realize it's a very tall order, but it'd be cool as hell if you could join up with BTSU or just go your own route.

Little idea for the end of Div3: After pushing back Faye and The Black Tusk were in a bar drinking with Kelso and the others about how they won, and then it cuts to Faye and Schaiffeur talking how even when they failed they still succeeded in their goal that being destroying the Division since they just killed and converted many more agents in their attacks and soon The Division will fall. We cut to a cinematic with survivors from different settlements in different countries or states in battle or celebrating (with a Kelso voice-over speech playing) about the Division about how they are the people fighting, about how even when they are all gone someone else will continue their battles then we see a familiar watch and hear a familiar sound.......The Third Wave is activated.

I know that and I am willing to stick with it. Even though the odds are stacked against the Division.
