16:08 - 45million? How does that math works? For example : Cam'ron said in an interview that his 2002 album went platinum. Lets say 12bucks a CD. Multiply it with 1million copies sold. thats 12 million dollars. 2dollars profit goes to the actual store that sells it and 2dollars goes to the production of the actual material. CD itself, cover etc. So we have around 8million dollars left. Cut the cake in half. 50% goes to the artist and 50% to the label that distributed it. In this case its a very straighforward and correct record deal with a label.

Outside of 8ball & MJG nobody else ever came outta memphis at this time. The ppl they sampled were never gonna take music seriously, Paul literally talks about taking the mixes to stores and they barely know about the genre in general let alone their sound. Without DJ Paul i wouldve likely never grew up on kingpin, gangsta pat etc etc. They wouldve never gotten the publicity.
