Hey thanks so much 😀 Yeah sanguinary guard are definitely on the list I’m just half waiting to see if they will get new models. I have a habit of timing that stuff poorly 😅

Since I assembled my Sanguinary Priest for this month's contest i was looking for "grimdark apothecary" and I find this video ! Can't believe I missed that one ! Now I'll have to see if I can manage to get a good result since my model is a conversion ^^

Think that Leonardus Dantalion both fits as a Space Marine-y name and a reference;Leonardus to Leonardo da Vinci,inventor that was also versed in anatomical studies,Dantalion to a demon knowledgeable in sciences and secrets. This way you could link it to his role (a kind of battle scientist that searches for the enemy weakness) and the naming for Blood Angels inspired by demons (like Astaroth,Mephiston or the planet Baal)

Hey Mike, great job! That was really interesting starting with a tan color and highlighting white to show how dirty it was. When I paint my apothecary I was planning on starting with a white base coat and using Apothecary white on the armor and maybe doing some edge highlights with a brighter white. But this turned out great and I like the glowing purple details! Also the beard lookin good!

Hey thanks 😀 if I tried again I think I would start with a wraithbone prime like I do with my death guard and see how that looks. Would be a bit brighter. Glad you got something out of it and yep the beard is bordering on being too itchy now 😅

He looked outstanding, I was like wow he's going to be pretty dark but the lighting really set off! Do you think the lighting is achievable without airbrushing? Oh and which spray gun is that if you don't mind me asking 🙌

Thanks so much Mark 😀 It’s a Badger Patriot 105 which isn’t anything particularly fancy. I really like it because it’s easy to use and forgiving. Without airbrush would be tricky because I rely on the airbrush for the areas where the light has been cast in a soft opacity style look. The main brightest areas of light would be fine though.
