I'm kind of disapointed they dind't check the dog for a microchip. Highlight how important getting your dog properly microchipped for if they slip the collar or escape while uncollared. IN the UK its a legal requirement now.

YES! There’s not enough stressing on this topic. My dog escaped through a hole in the fence today, but luckily a neighbor found her and brought her to my dad. If my neighbor hadn’t found my dog I would’ve been completely reliant on a person finding her and checking her microchip which isn’t even a requirement where I live. The heartbreak I felt while looking for her would absolutely break me if I were to never find her because somebody didn’t bother to check her for a microchip!

At least in my state in the US (florida) it is unfortunately not mandatory to check for chips. Luckily all the shelters in my area seem to do it as standard protocol. When I fostered stray dogs, the shelters near me I brought them to first would have them x-rayed for chips as soon as they were found. It definitely makes things a lot easier! My own dog Shirley has a digging problem and she's escaped through the gates of my backyard multiple times before I put bricks down. If I hadn't had her microchipped, I sadly don't think she would've been returned to me!

As a dog rescuer and foster I am excited to see this game in full! I have fostered 21 dogs and helped hundreds more by socializing them and promoting them for adoption! Here in the South, we have a terrible dog overpopulation problem due to a lack of spaying and neutering as well as an appalling amount of backyard breeding! I played the demo and left a comment for the developers.

I wonder why neutering and spaying is such a problem in the south. Here it's just a normal part of having a pet unless you're an actual breeder, and the only people I've met who just don't spay their pets are a family of hoarders.

There are a plethora of "backyard breeders" in the South, which have many female dogs that they overbreed constantly for money or end up having "accidental" litters that they then dump at shelters for "not being cute enough". Yes, one of our foster dogs was a mama that we named Amara. She had been bred 3 times and was less than 2 years old. When her third litter was born, her so-called owners wanted to dump the four week old puppies at the local kill shelter for "not being cute enough". Since they were not weaned, the shelter said they would only take the puppies with their mother and would give her back once the puppies were weaned and she was spayed since it was obvious they didn't want any future puppies. Once she was spayed, they didn't come back to get her because they said she was "useless". Amara will forever be one of my favorite fosters because my family showed her what it was like to be loved for the first time!

yay a dog rescue game...my family foster but where we live people don't spay or neuter there dogs so we have so many pups come in to are home of all ages as well as puppies that had to be bottle fed..we currently have 4 puppies and a pitbull who is sooo sweet and a husky mix that had eye surgery then they go to new jersey

that looks cute and stressful xD Stressful, because I don't think it is an easy task to run an animal shelter. I wonder how many breeds are in the game now and how many will be there on release. I kinda wanna have pitties :3 In my country they're classified as "list dogs", because they're a breed, that is often used in dog fights and so are prejudiced as an "aggressive" dog breed, but they're just one side of a medal...the other side is the human who raised the dogs to be so aggressive it's rarely the fault of the dog.

Pitties are literally the biggest sweethearts, we've had nothing but for my 19 years alive. They're great for families with small children or those with other animals, and while they can be mouthy and theyre not the most easily trained, they never mean to hurt anyone. Like you said, mean pitties are the product of owners who taught them to be that way, and they usually do it from a place from protection than aggression. Ive been bitten and snarled at more by the one dachshund in my life than the 4 big old pitties combined. If you don't count my current one gently grabbing my entire hand in his mouth to lead me around every day that is

It all depends on socialization. Big dogs that are well-socialized and treated well can be the biggest sweethearts! It doesn't matter if they come from an 'aggressive'breed or not. Little dogs that aren't socialized can be snappy and mean, but because they're so small, people don't tend to bother working with them as much. My family has kept 3 german shepherds before, and two of them I raised from puppies. They have never once bit me, unlike the two shi-tzus my stepmother had.
