First thankya for posting these. The house with all the thick chunky wood and old family items is really beautiful. I think the best part is seeing all the childhood doodles it was really cool to see they were done on anything and everything he could get his hands on, which makes me wonder if he like me got into trouble when homework was turned in lol.

A beautiful collection, I myself have a very nearly complete collection of the very earliest Golden Age Carl Barks Donald Duck comics Walt Disney Comics & Stories #31-63 from 1943-1945, and a Barks Donald Duck Four Color Comics #62, Nothing close to the Rosa collection of course but it took me forever to build up and I'm kind of proud of it. Walt Disney Comics & Stories #43 will be the last issue I need to get there for a complete early set.

I love how EC comics are his favorites. Personally I've got 13 out of the 23 Mad comic books, on average in FN condition, which set me back enough for someone who's not rich, but they're fantastic and worth it. Hoping to complete it some day, and I think I will. The other ones though, like Haunt Of Fear/Vault Of Horror etc, will probably be but a wet dream for the rest of my life..

I just had my 2nd retina detachment. It's not fun at all. Several weeks after my surgery I got back to reading my comics. It makes you appreciate your eye sight. Hopefully you're back to seeing well again too...thanks for sharing this massive collection. I remember buying comics off rounders at 7-11 in the 70s.

Oh, doesn't sound very pleasant. But yeah, now that he's had surgery following his second detachment, Don can actually see better than ever. They were even going to correct it to a point where he wouldn't have needed his glasses anymore, but since he's so used to wearing them, he told them only to correct the problems that had more recently come up. ;)

Find an LCS. Figure out what titles you want to read on a monthly basis. Open up a sub list. Go through the back issue bins. Go through eBay, Craiglists, Instagram, and Facebook.

I wish you had opened one of those Phase boxes to see how the comics fit. You see i am thinking of putting my collection in Phase boxes. They are all in silver age 4 mil Mylar bags now. i wonder how much Marvel comics fit in a Phase box? Can you help me with this question.

I use Mylar bags and Acid Free backing boards and boxes for all my Golden Age comics. they are expensive but then so are my comics.

Well to be fair if you have that many comics and you want to keep them as in mint condition as possible, then ofc you keep them in such boxes....ofc it would have been nice if he had shown some like his collections of those Donald Duck/Scrooge comic books, but either way collecting and preserving comics is bit different than collecting lets say games or movies.
