When we see Laws Backstory he tells Baby 5 and Buffalo his "true" name and says something along the lines of : "since I don't use a codename like you two it's just a little longer". Also I don't think that her mother would have 5 children. The reason Baby 5 was abandoned was that she and her mother lived in a place ravished by famine and she was just "a useless mouth to feed" when her mother couldn't even feed herself. I mean I guess it could be possible that she abandoned her first 4 children as well but seems kinda unlikely to me that she would keep getting pregnant well knowing that she would have to abandon the next one as well. (and that happening 5 times in a row)

Doffy is like that kid who was forced to uproot his life because his parents decided they wanted a change in scenery. A kid in a new and hostile environment grows to resent his family because they took him away from the life he was familiar and comfortable with. The kid eventually snaps from the hostility surrounding him and with some outside influences takes back his lost agency. In Doffy’s case killing his father and starting his own “family” one that would support him in his quest to regain his lost agency.

There's also the fact that due to the decision to uproot the family his mom died due to something that would be easily treatable if they were still Celestials and they were tortured above a fire before he used conquerors haki.

@@smiley4995 Yeah, his mother did not deserve to die for her husband's choices and being tortured is not pleasant for anyone. Unfortunately, Doflamingo's father underestimated the anger that people hold for the celestial dragons which seems to be something that they all share. They do not realize that they are only "respected" because they are essentially above the law and can bring down terrible punishment on anyone who angers them. Take away that protection and they are like paper tigers. Doflamingo had learned just enough from his lifestyle gain that attitude and express it to people who were eager for revenge due to the suffering the dragons inflicted on them. That being said, Doflamingo could have used his experiences to become a better person and learn especially after they refused to let him back in with his father's head in tow. He did not do so and with the influence of Trebol and the others he became even worse. I can understand wanting to surround himself with family members who understand and support him, but I cannot agree with what they do or with Doflamingo's viewpoints.

In all honesty Corazon was too young to properly remember things, so he may exagerate things like Doffy being unable to be good. He killed his father because his father essentially killed his mother woth his arrogance, when he tried returning the CD's attacked him to shoo him away, and finally he finds out the last member of his family has been going behind his back and betraying him since they reunited, why should he not shoot him when his brother has already shot him countless times without him knowing, how many attempts on his life has there been by the world government with the information Corazon has given out, how many operations have failed due to him. Honestly I think Doffy did love his brother, however he loved his chosen family as well and his brother put them at risk. I feel if Corazon was actually there for his brother and helped guide him, Doffy could have been a better person. Probably not a marine, but maybe a revolutionary.

@@smiley4995 Given how Doflamingo seemed to act as if he was still considered a celestial dragon, I have my doubts that being good-natured was the issue. His father was naïve and ignorant of how people hated them and I see that as the reason for the mother dying, not arrogance. He assumed that society would be willing to accept them because they are no different then other human beings. While essentially right as far as being no different without their privileges, I don't think he was arrogant merely ignorant. Doflamingo wanted to go back to the life of privilege that he lived beforehand which is why he inquired about the lack of slaves and asked for a gun to kill people not bowing to him. It is a matter of nature and nurture. He was born into the family of the celestial dragons and he couldn't help that, but he was also influenced by them before they left. I don't see this as Corazon's fault either because in all honesty he does know his brother better then anyone except the other top executives and even they understand that Doffy is filled with cruelty and hatred (some of which Trebol and the others helped with). They made it a point to punish anyone and anyplace that caused Doffy even the slightest injury or insult which added to his sense of entitlement. I think by the point the others joined him and encouraged his dark nature was the point where Corazon didn't have a chance of reaching him because he would have been a restraint that reminded Doffy too much of his father. He wanted to be able to do whatever he wanted whenever he wanted due to what he perceived as his divine right and his only anger towards the other celestial dragons was that they refused to let him join them in heaven and left him in hell. Could he have become a good person? Perhaps, but if I may say something, if Boa Hancock and Fisher Tiger are any indication it would seem that the celestial dragons have a tendency not only to encourage the worst traits in their children, but also unintentionally do the same for some of those who have the distinct displeasure of being victims to them. There are those who have a good nature, but they seem to be few and far between which might be due to the fact that being of a nature like Doffy's father means abandoning a life as a god in their eyes. I would like to think that Corazon could have convinced his brother not to be this person, but in all honesty he had a much better chance of convincing the children in the crew to abandon Doffy. I think that he saw his brother as being unable to be good because as Doffy himself said, he inherited their father's kindness. No matter how much he might despise Doffy he would never kill his own brother, but that was the reason he sought to keep others like Law out of Doffy's hands.

So, I did some math. I recently watched the Dressrosa Arc, and let me just say.. I despise Sugar as a character and I despise that damn fruit of hers. It played on two of my biggest fears, and it really hurt to see all of that. Dressrosa as an arc is pretty good. Bound Man was stronger than what I had expected, and I didn't expect Luffy to be able to fly. Senior Pink will probably return at one point, which I sort of want to happen, seeing as we saw his backstory. We only saw the backstories of people who had had a chance of returning. Like Baby 5 and Doflamingo. Senior vs Franky was also my favourite fight.

I just started watching anime again after years of not and i gotta say, I havnt even watched one peice in years but somehow you made me watch this whole hour and a half one peice youtube video. Keep up the great videos there all really interesting

Although there are some major arguments in Monet's favor, I would say I like Gladus the most, simply for his badass steampunk design. Wish we could have seen more from him as well. Then again, you also have so many other members, that cannot even be considered to be a true family member like Viola and Rocinante, as well as Baby 5 and Senor Pink with which we can easier sympathize. Out of the Top executives I found Trebol to be the most interesting (although equally as annoying), because him being Doffys influencer in the younger days caught me off guard. There is this one panel, when Law and Luffy are fighting the two where Trebol takes off his glasses and we see his eyes for the first time... up to this point he just came off as this goofy character, sluggish and a bit of an idiot even, but at that point he looked surprisingly intimidating and I guess that mini-reveal sticked with me since then. Don't need to mention I also like Doffy himself, but the man is his very own league, so yeah... I would say these are the more interesting charakters for me. As for the best fight though, I have to go with Sai vs. Lao G or in extension the whole Sai and Chinjao vs. Lao G and Baby 5 scene. That was quite funny, also emotional due to Baby 5's backstory, surprising for several reasons (Baby 5 willing to sacrifice herself, Sai standing up against his own grandfather, awakening the Dragon Drill technique while doing so, Lao G turning into super buffed Muten Roshi, etc.) and the final clash, specifically Sai's kick looked awesome as all hell. Actually, even the anime did a really good job in animating that scene.

1:06:40 Gladdus was drawn up by Oda almost 10 years before he was used and Oda really loved his name and his design. But just he couldn't really fit him in any of the arcs until Dressrosa. So oda spend 10 years constantly refining his design.
