Good Evening ladies and gents. Here's my recreation of the first part of the episode The Doomsday Machine. I might do the entire episode if you guys would love to see that. And yes, I realized (at the last minute) that the star color is different for both videos. Didn't noticed that until I was completely done with everything lol. Also, this is the very first time I've done a "and now the conclusion" and referenced another video. Actually had fun putting that together! Stay tuned for more... As a kid I had the whole series memorized. This was my all time favorite…..I was 12 years old. I feel the same way 50 years later.

Same here, had all the story lines because of the 4 channels we had, they would broadcast the same show an hour apart. I was 2 years old in 66, older brothers watched it on NBC, black and white, then 19" color console in 1968, Dad got a raise. Watched the Apollo 11 land on the moon.

Superior writing and superior directing to most of the other episodes. An adapted novel, adapted by the writer himself. A full symphonic score with each character, ship and machine getting a specific theme...the way a motion picture would do. Full circle camera work on the bridge instead of the Desilu parlor fixed camera shots of the same spots. Damage to a starship you could see. Even the plastic model and Effects by Billy was a major step forward in immersion visuals. Serious damage to the Enterprise too might have helped that, but most Enterprise shots come from the initial S1 canned stock. The CGI could add a burned nacelle or a scarred hull.

The Doomsday Machine was one of my all-time favorite episodes of the Original Star Trek. It would've been awesome if they would've made a movie about a similar Doomsday Machine wondering around the universe. Perhaps the one originally created to combat the Original Doomsday machine "used in a war countless years ago. They don't exist anymore but the machine is still destroying" . Also, great job on the effects.

The AMT Enterprise model came out. That's how we got the Constellation and it's weird out of sequence hull number. NCC 1017 is a reworking of 1701 the only hull numbers that came with the kit. I huess 1710 would not show up on TV sets circa 1967.
@Foxonian10 ай бұрын
Nope. It was simpler than that. When the prop guys were building the Constellation model they misread the production notes and put the number on backwards. The ship's number was supposed to be NCC- 1710.

@professorbrainyspecs736610 ай бұрын
The effects are very nice. But I have couple of things I want to raise that could have been better. One, that warp effect is more like Star Wars hyperspace than Star Trek warp drive. You should use something closer to the TOS films if you are redoing the warp effect. Two, the Planet Killer was described by Decker as slicing junks out of planets, not blowing them up. Otherwise, this was good, and part two was even better. Thank you.

Yeah, you should dump the Star Wars hyperspace tunnel effects it has become derivative. Your renders are pretty spot on. Another detail the planet killer does not blow up planets. By Deckers account it is cutting chunks of the planet out.
