@@THEAMERICAN-ob2wt Agreed, but the opposite of addiction is not sobriety but it is meaningful connection which is sorely lacking in our culture and this is why people become addicted. Therefore addiction is created by trauma rather than weakness and it is always other people that traumatize people who then turn to drugs to escape their pain which is more real than the sham of a cruel and weak society that always blames the victims of the injustices it perpetrates. American and Australian cultures are soulless , shallow and violent - it's no wonder there is a drug epidemic that is destroying lives - I'm actually referring to pharmaceutical drugs which kill more people than all illegal drugs combined. I think that the nineties were really like the sixties. In a musical sense especially. The Doors, MC5 made the first beam of the bridge that was finished in the nineties. I was born in 1992. in Croatia and I have only gratitude for The Doors who really helped me in my dark alleys of life. Bless to everyone reading this! The sixties and the ninties were an echo of Romanticism. From Shelley, Byron, Chateaubriand all the way to Morirson. We must continue the groove of that melody, continue to break, break on through the other side!

45 now... was about 16 when I seriously got into The Doors... amazing band who will see out the test of time. Love Eddie, but he isn't Jim, but did a good job all the same. The way the band can go off and bring it all back together again is truly remarkable. True graats of their craft.

I was 10 yrs old when this group the Doors came in 67. The summer of love. Lived on the OSU campus col Ohio. Transister radio light my fire changed my world . Classic. Influenced me in drums and percussion in my bands. I thank these guys. These guys changed music. They where the first in prog rock. Jazz fusion blues. What a sound . R.I.P JIM AND RAY.

You nailed it. Without The Doors…there would be no prog rock. Robby and Ray played with time signatures but John took them by the collar and said come with me. I think Eddie said it best…The End was ‘67? 🤯

Morrison's father, George, was an Admiral in the Navy, and oversaw naval operations during the Gulf of Tonkin incident that led to the US war in Vietnam. According to his obituary, he was once the youngest Admiral in the nation's fleet. As a young man, he was also stationed in Pearl Harbor at the time of the bombing in 1941.

An absolute fantastic compilation! Minus Jim of course! But the lead singer really did a great job. Thankfully the other band members were there to add that FANTASTIC sound and music. . Such a shame Him was taken from us at such a young age. Jim would agree this was a fine Tribute to himself.

1967, the summer of love. Ray put it so well, love that was colorblind. The late 70's saw colorblindness too in the disco times. Some really laid back and beautiful times. Wish we could bring it back for awhile. RIP to Jim and Ray.
